Being stuck on a coaster or ride

Like Two Face, getting stuck at SFA it got me thinking of times where I got stuck on a coaster or a ride. The first time I rode SP I got stuck going up the lift hill. We had to walk down the steps it was only half way up. They ran the train around the track and when it got back to the station they let us aboard. I was a little concered with getting back on but I did and was glad I had. I also had gotten stuck on the ferris wheel at the top (talk about good luck) at Kennywood during the firework display on the 4th of july. We were stuck for an hour and it just happend to be about a 1/2 hour before the firework display! I never rode that ride again because the Areo 360 took its place the following year. What rides or coasters have you gotten stuck on. At SFA last year during the "Preview" weekend Mind Eraser was having problems and it almost stopped on the lift hill.

well this past week i was at sfstl and i was riding screamin eagle and we got stuck on the lift...but it was only for about 10 seconds cuz they had to stop the lift cuz the other train was not at the brake run yet...but it ws pretty funny to hear everyone say what just happened! haha!

Top 3 favorite coasters I have ridden on:
1. Millennium Force
2. Superman U F
3. Raging Bull
In IOA, we got stuck on the very top of the lift hill on Dueling Dragons for about 20 minutes. To add to that, it started pouring rain. We were soaked.

Tales for the L33t

At Animal Kingdom, my family and I got stuck on Countdown to Extinction for like 20 minutes. It wasn't scary or anything, but it was really cool to see the ride with its lights on. Sadly, I couldn't get to my camera because of the seatbelt. :(

My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.

got stuck in Raptors mid-course brakes for about 45 minutes after a heavy down pour. We were stuck due to "computer malfunction". Also, you never know how much bird crap is on the supports untill you get stuck and have time to look, ;)

Got stuck for about 10 seconds on the top of Rolling Thunder's lift (@ SFGadv.) Maybe the op was having fun, or the train didn't clear the brakes (They had to keep resetting them ever time the train came into the run, or something along those lines) It was funny to hear everyone else when we stopped. (About 20 "F" words and 1 "woo hoo!" :))

I'd love to get stuck on MF or Magnum, but nooooooo. Of all the coasters to get stuck on, my brother and I got stuck on CCMR. We were ascending the second lift when we stopped. I let out a joyful cheer and then we felt the train roll back a few inches, jolting everyone. My jubilation was cut short by a mother in front of us giving us a dirty look while her 8 or 9 yr old daughter was white knuckling. Same ol crap, ride op came up and said it would be a minute or two and soon we were.

I am not who you think I am.
I must be a curse for rides.

1) WDW, stuck on Haunted Mansion, it was quite funny watching the same animatronics pop up over and over again.

2) SFKK, Hellevator at the top for about 10 minutes, it was cool to feel it swaying.

3) SFKK, on Chaos, the ride was "unbalanced," so they lowered us from the full-fledged rotating position.

4) HallowSwings blew a fuse, or something along those lines, and the ride stopped while it was in mid-cycle. It was on a rainy day and the water ran off from the sides and drenched some unlucky folks. Then I got the 10 second treatment at the top of Legend's lift, the second train hadn't reached the brakerun/station by the time we got to the top.

There you have it, in nice numbered form, isn't that interesting?

Join MY coaster club! - It's absolutely FREE!
So far I have pretty much been lucky...but I cant wait till the day when I get stuck on Apollo, at the very top on a nice summer night...that would be awesome. In those nice comfortable seats with a great view of the park...

1. Millennium Force
2. HypersonicXLC
3. Alpengeist

Rob, you only wish you were invited on one of my coaster trips. (See track record);>)

By the way, your signature does not lead to a coaster club. I'm suing you for false advertisement.

Wild Mouse at Idlewild at the bottom of the lift. Exterminator at Kennywood, it was cool with the lights on. At Disney World: Tomorrowland Transit Authority stopped in the building, Splash Mountain stopped twice through the course of the ride, X-S alein encounter ride shut down and Pirates of the Caribarrian stopped at the bottom of the splash.

I have been stuck on a lift for about 10 seconds on Rolling Thunder, Dragon Coaster, and Phoenix. I was stuck on Cyclone at Astroland and Rolling Thunder (again) for 10 minutes. The longest one would be Batman: The Ride at SFgadv for twenty minutes then they walked us down the stairs.

I got stuck on the second lift hill of Iron Dragon at Cedarpoint for about 10 minutes. We were out in the middle of nowhere so it was kind of relaxing. The worst part was it was a 96 degree day and we were sitting in the direct sunlight!
We were stuck on the lift hill of Shockwave at KD for about 10 minutes last year.
I guess I'm fortunate I've never gotten stuck on a ride but I sure wouldn't mind a rollback on ttd.
I got stuck on SWAT(new flat ride at SFAW) at the top of the two towers, the Mine Train(I forget the name) at SFFT in the brake run, The Beast in the brake run WITH warnings that a hail storm was approaching(good that its enclosed-and the hail never came, neither did any rain), and Batwing at SFA in the queue line ;) .

If Milli Vanilli fell in the woods, would someone else make a sound ?

i feel that most of you who walked down the ride are bulls*****ing. Walking down BM:TR It is an invert, and there is nothing below you, did everyone just 'jump' to the staircase? im willing to be they would try to fix the ride, and worse case they would use a cherry picker on that ride, it does not seem suited to pull people out from. Also the liability and fear factor involved in 'walking people down' is extremly high. You know how risky it is to try and unload people from BM:TR, you would first have to get a mechanic up on the go go elevator platform to go up each row and pop the seats w\ an air gun. then you would have to someone get each person to the staircase. Then safely walk them down a 100+ foot staircase. Possible, but not feasible. I guess some people just feel 'cool'...

As for me, the longest was probly and E-stop on spidey, belive it or not the scenes dont loop, they play once, and then go to blank i guess 'waiting' for another car to trip the sensor. MIB we got held up to, but i think it was just because the unload station got too backed up. and splash mountain(before the change) but that allways has a backup.

I've been stuck on the coaster that inspired this thread - Two-Face. Our experience was different than the one that made the news. The lift never engaged when we made the return trip through the station, letting the train run through a third time, but it didn't have enough steam to make it through the first inversion, so it coaster through the station and up the lift again. Once again, we went through the station and into the first inversion when the station brakes finally grabbed. We were in the front car facing out, and sitting at about a 45 degree angle for about 10 minutes before they were able to release the brakes and ease the train back into the station.

The ride was never shut down or even tested after we got off. They just loaded the next group and went on like nothing happened.

I have never been stuck on a lift hill before. Heres my short list:
-Got stuck on Whizzer at SFGAm every car but my car made it into the station, the mechanic had to push it the rest of the way in.
-Deja Vu, the floor wouldn't come up in the station.
-Got stopped on Demon's brake run (the first brakes, before the turn towards the station) for about 10 minutes.
-Then at Indiana Beach a few years ago while on the Ferris Wheel, halfway through the ride it started going the opposite way and it took them about 45 minutes to get it where we could finally exit. When we got off they said the wheel was unbalenced and that was why it happened.
