Umm....shouldn't that be "Beech Bend to unveil plans on Thursday, July 28"??? ;)
Well Moosh I figured we could start our own little post-HW blog and speculate for the next 2 days. I'm betting it's a wooden coaster in a non-holiday themed section of the park!

I bet it's a GCII coaster too.

interesting, that season pass price is a little steep IMO, $120.00, Id rather get a cedar fair one for much less and enjoy all of their parks all year...but I guess it seems like a nice little park. The prices just confuse me. *** Edited 7/27/2005 2:40:05 AM UTC by P18***
Wow, that is very high for such a small park. SFKK's is half that.
How much do you guys think Holiday World's passes are? Smaller parks have higher SP prices because they usually don't absorbe the cost in other ways other parks do.

Edit: P.S., you don't see the higher priced SP parks over run by teenagers, either... *** Edited 7/27/2005 4:04:20 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***

....and SFKK isn't getting a new GCII next year, are they? LOL!

It's all in fun kids. Yes, that DOES seem high to me...WA/CG was 65 bucks this year, and included both parks. HW just plain *has* more, and what with the free parking, tube "rentals", sunscreen, and soft drinks...how DOES Will do that? ;)

Compare to Paramount and CF for SP prices, Six Flags is still trying to figure out why their stock is in the hopper...Beech Bend is trying to do what Clementon seems to have succeeded with, installing a new wooden coaster which they can use to *anchor* a going regional park...of course, I think Beech Bend had more to start with, when JackRabbit went down Clementon had basically a waterpark and some flats...

Good luck Beech Bend, see ya next year! :)

I'm hoping that once Kennywood gets around to those season passes that they price them similarly.

I'd be willing to pay for the family knowing the park wouldn't become area babysitter - and hey, it just might help fund those new coasters going on the new property. :)

Amen, Lord Gonchar.
While Kennywood offer discounts for having passes to Idlewild, I don't know if they will ever have season passes.

You can get in after 6pm for $7 if you have a Sandcastle season pass too, thats been great this year.

I think the season passes at Sandcastle, Idlewild and Lake Compounce are all just ways of testing the waters.

There is obvious interest on their end.

In my eyes, it's inevitable and it won't be much longer.

silly dreamer :)

I agree with you Gonch. Especially since they have gone to the POP this season. Even small parks like Clementon in NJ get away with charging 123.95 for theirs why can't Kennywood do something similar?

I can't really see that selling season passes would turn KW into the instant babysitter. I can't help to think of the possibilities if they included their sister parks as part of their pass even if it is for a price. I know I'd be on it. It would just give my wife a reason to go home and visit her family in Monessen more often. :)

I don't know how Beech Bend's plans turned into KW selling season passes thread, but so be it. I'll chime in. ;)

Threads have a way of morphing like that around here. :)

well, when there isn't anything to talk about until later on today, what's an insomniac to do? :) Ah, only a couple more hours until the big announcement (if you consider 12 to be a couple!).

Ride count on the Voyage: 40 Most consecutive rides on the Voyage: 36 Day after thigh bruises from airtime: Priceless

Kennywood is selling season passes to Beech Bend? Man, the things you learn on the interweb... ;)
You are a piece of work Gator!

Beech Bend is a interesting little park. It's like someone found an area of land and randomly threw in the most insane flat rides they could find. lol. I "stopped by" on my way home from the Pres Con last year. Even though I was there for 20 minutes (they were closing) I was impressed. It sorta has that "permanent carnival" feeling like Williams Grove or Lakemont, but still VERY much fun.

GCI? Yeah baby! Bring it on!
