Beast vs. SOB at night

My brother just sprung it on me that we were going to King's Island tomorrow for the first time. And I want a GREAT night ride, so for all of you people out there who have ridden Beast and SOB at night, which was better?

Respond quickly please.
Even though I havent been on either I'd say the Beast because of going through those woods.

Try and hit SoB early in the day if you can because thats when the lines will be the best. I suggest waiting to ride it front seat, it is worth it. But, if you dont wanna wait in that longer line or say you love it so much you wanna ride again, hit the very back.
The Beast at night is incredible! This is another must-ride front seat.

i dont see what the big deal is, i always thought that every coaster experience is fun. no mater if you are on junior gemini or magnum..... until i rode possibly the most hyped up coaster of all time behind millenium force. then to come onto the brake run after the ride with a look of disbelievment on my face, thinking outloud "what was THAT all about?". give me junior gemini. i am not bitter.

I have yet to ride SOB at night. But... i did ride The Beast RIGHT owhen the fireworks wnt off! Itwas a balsh. I was on the beast the whole length of the firework display. If you dant get the fireworks, it is a great experience doing the beast at night. Its a WAY better dark coaster than Outer Limits!
I think Beast would Be cooler a night

Thanks for your replies. I guess it'll be The Beast!
The Beast at night is flat out great! Didn't get to do SOB at night cause the line way so long. Would love to do that helix at night though. Make up your own mind on SOB, people like to trash it but it's a fun ride! :)

This is the last time I'm going to warn some of you... This is a FORUM and if people have a differing opinion, deal with it. If you disagree, just move on. Don't personally attack the guy. That's what annoys me.

I went to pki real early in the coaster season and i was so lucky and so privliged to ride the beast with no trim brakes at night. It was the most unbeleveable experiance of my whole life. That is my pick by far.

I did deal with it. And that is my opinion and you should respect it. After all you basically attacked me, by putting up that post Jeff. and i moved on, i deleted the"dissagreeing" post, so no one else has to look at MY opinion. *** This post was edited by Sinker515 on 8/4/2000. ***
SOB
After 21 years, I still have to say that nothing beats a night ride on The Beast, trim brakes on or not. The final helix at night is incredible, the train literally feels like it is simply going to rip right out of the track.
I rode The Beast and SOB 3 times each. Unfortunately, I didn'y get to ride The Beast at night.:( I planned on it, but I had 40 minutes till the park closed so I decided to go up front. They didn't move the lines very fast, and then somebody puked so the park closed before I got off. SOB's first helix is ABSOLUTRELY INCREDIBLE at night. I was up front, and I could see anything. It was pitch black. There was less visibiltiy than on OL:FOF! I rode The Beast right when the park opened, and I decided it was the best woodie I'd ever been on. Then rode it around 7:00, and it beat the crap out of me! I was in the back, and it was so intense, extreme, and rough. I loved it! I don't know which one is better. The Beast or SOB, I just don't know.
I liked SOB!! I thought it was weet. I didn't get to ride anything at night though!!!! I think that SOB and Beast are just as good as each other. I would like to ask a question to punk, why don't you like SOB?? Is there a reason?? I think the Vortex is way underrated, ride that at night!!!!

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
I haven't ridden Son Of Beast at night yet but the Beast at night is a blast. You can't see a thing in the tunnels. It is a must.

craig the freak-
i didnt find the layout too exciting. the "helixes" were sooooo big i didnt feel any forces. i am usually not one to complain about roughness, but this wasnt rough. i felt the train didnt navagate the turns well enough. this is hard to explain, but instead of going around smoothly, the train kept like jerking into the side of the track. it gave a whiplash effect and slammed my legs into the side of the car (terrible, terrible restraints i might add). the loop- thank you it was smooth. it didnt pull any forces like sooperdooperlooper does. it just felt like you were going straight. the first hill didnt do anyhting for me either. seemed like mean streak. i found the layout very boring and quite lame. the restraints need to be re-done, i dont care if they are staples like gerstauler(sp?). the ride's jerks killed my legs, slamming them into the side of the car. going down a drop, doing two circles, going through a loop(straight track), and doing two more circles isnt very exciting. there wasnt air time at all throughout the whole course. the only time i flew out of my seat was when we slammed on the side of the "helixes", ramming my whole body into the side of the train. vortex, i felt was the best ride there. king kobra, is also underrated. there is nothing better than having bruises on your shoulders from jolting up into your harness on the camelbacks. the helix, how they are meant to be pulled awesome forces as did the loop. pki needs a SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH coaster, preferably hyper.

That is totally wierd because I didn't feel any "jerks", just vibration. I think lack of airtime is what hurt this ride the most.
