Batman the Ride at SFGADV (pins and needles)

I tend to believe they're all virtually identical, hence the savings in engineering costs for the *replicas*. I'm not using the 'c' word anymore, unless it's for *duplicates* of BAD coasters...LOL! ;)

I blame most of the differences on maintenance, esp. that of the trains, and on climatic differences (aging), as well as temperatures - hot days + cool nights = :)

I doubt much difference, if ANY at all, is due to changes in the way the rides are DESIGNED. Mirrored versions are of course understood to be just that...

Parks tend to round the numbers in their stats too, so I don't think the track length info is all that accurate, at least for the ones that are listed as being: 2700'.

I also would like to think that's the case with the ride at Sea World, too, but the difference there is a lot more than 7 feet, lol.

Has anybody actually timed SFMM's on an average night and then timed, for example, SFGAm's? I'm just wondering exactly how much additional speed you need to have to actually start feeling some differences.

I believe quite a while back (maybe even years back) someone had timed Legend at the start of the day vs. Legend at the end of the night and while the coaster seems INSANELY faster, the ride time really wasn't *that* much shorter. May have been on another board but the point is while rides do seem to be way faster from one clone to another (or on time of day to another) obviously other psychological things come into play.

In other news isn't it about time for someone to comment on the varying reported statistics of M:TR's track length? Seriously, I think we're slacking guys. *** Edited 9/23/2006 11:16:04 PM UTC by matt.***

I think it's 6" but he rounds it up to 10" for advertising purposes.

This happened to me once, and when I got off the ride, I noticed my legs literally had pins and needles stuck all over them.

Word of advice: Never ride the B:TR clone at Acupunctureland.

I concur with Matt. I've ridden every Batman clone in the US more than once, and SFMM and SFGadv's have a 'snap' in the first three inversions that I didn't notice so much in the others. On the other hand, SFOG's Batman seems to have the stronger finish. SFGam's Batman felt really slow for some reason, not sure why. I do feel that even coasters that are clones of each other still have personalities of their own. Enviroment and maintanance have to play a part, as well as weather, although people claim they do not.

Why does SFA's Superman feel more intense than SFDL's? Why does Scream feel faster than the Medusa's?

Could be different wheels too.

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

I'll be there at Great Adventure tommorow (Saturday) and if we ride, I'll have to let you know my opinon.

Well, my sister and I rode it and neither us experienced any pins and needle feelings. We rode in the very back, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. *** Edited 10/2/2006 5:16:20 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***
