What is so strange is.... with regards to the latest B&Ms in the US, we heard about them early on in the season, and they have disappeared from the limelight... case in point, Superman Ultimate Flight. That thing was THE coaster talked about in the winter and early spring. Now, where has it gone? I know its still running day after day. But, where are the immense praises month after month I expected to see on the boards? The same with B:TDK. It was heralded as the most intense floorless coaster to date and I can understand why. But it has been ridden, talked about and forgotten.
Is B&M losing their popularity? Are their newer coasters lacking their heralded "batman the ride" intensity?

Well, as far as the hype issue is concerned.....Considering how few coasters were opening up across the country this year (as compared to years past), I would have expected a little more hype from SF. It is even more shocking that SF didn't hype it more considering that SFNE probably won't get another coaster for several more years.
I think the public (read: coaster enthusiasts) hasn't really talked about the ride because:
1. Arguably, one of the best coasters in the world is just a few hundred feet away (No, I am not referring to Mind Eraser...LOL)
2. Everyone was talking about the "red train issue" and talking about how long it would be until S:RoS was running two trains.
As far as the quality of the ride, I agree with just about everything seasupersonic said. I just rode this ride for the first time last week and it was a very good ride IMO....A little rough for a B&M, but nothing compared to SLC's. Most of the elements are pretty standard for a floorless...although I must say that IMO it has the best 0-g roll that I have ever experienced. B:TDK is a good ride, but it will always be overshadowed by S:RoS.
Happy Coastering!

BDK seemed very underhyped. My opinion of the ride- it's a great ride, but it's short. It has great elements, and the front and the back give different rides (front-what the ride's supposed to do, back-pulled through elements). I didn't find the front appealing, but I love the back.
SFNE Freak's site http://www.alternativegaming.net/~sfne/ has great BDK pictures and great pictures of the other rides in the park.

Is this coaster really just 2600 feet long? What a big bummer. I most enjoy rides of some length. I figure, if I'm going to wait in line for more than fifteen minutes for a ride, the ride should last more than 15 seconds.
Have you by chance ridden a Batman TR or Cornball Express, the difference between those rides and big long rides is that you come off the ride with the greatest high in the world. The advantage to short coasters is when it's all over you don't know what hit you and you have to ride it over and over to figure it out and it's non-stop action which I can't say about HUGE B&M's (i.e. Alpengeist) where you can anticipate everything that's coming which takes more away from the ride than you can manage IMO.
