Batman: The Dark Knight (SFNE) - overhyped?

I visited SFNE yesterday mainly to ride the new attraction Batman (and of course Superman, one of the most enjoyable coasters!) After hearing all the hype, I can honestly say Batman did not impress me very much. Do not get me wrong- it is a fine B&M product- smooth as ever. I expected the first drop to be bigger, and the ride to be much longer. To me the ride isn't much different than the Mind Eraser in intensity.

I rode B:TDK and enjoyed it imensly... you must of been expecting to much... Its supposed to feel short... its only 2600 feet. I personally enjoyed it and liked it better then mind eraser and the elements were really smooth and fun. Its very good, and looks awsome, especially from the parking lot.

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

im gonna ride it in a few weeks and it looks cool, yet very short. I wish they had maybe stuck in a high speed helix after the interlocking corkscrews just to make it that much longer.

Does anyone know where I can find some good pics of this coaster besides RCDB?

Overhyped? Other than from SFNE itself, did this ride get much hype in the first place? I mean, it's not like MF where countless threads just kept popping up about how it was the best ever.
I don't ever remember much hype being around B: TDK, except from SFNE. After it opened, I haven't seen a whole lot of people mention much about it.

While I haven't ridden it, I personally think B&M is better at creating smaller, more intense rides, if you went looking for size you went for the wrong reason.

Is it written in the stars?
La Vie Boheme!!!

I think ME is very intense. Its so small and compact and therefore probably pulls more gs than BDK

I loved Batman. The first drop was incredible. It looked like it was banked past 90 degrees.

I think most SLCs seem more intense due to the way you ride, but I bet the g figures are probably the same.

ME? What is ME and what does it have to do with the hype (or lack thereof) surrounding B:DK?

A rollercoaster? What's that?

I agree. The small B&M's are good. Wildfire was very short, but I loved it.

ME is Mind Eraser. It's a Vekoma Inverted looping coaster. It has 5 inversions. It is fun but so rough!

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!

There was never really any buzz about the ride. It looks intense though.

The ride is solid, but i'll agree it's somewhat disappointing to a coaster enthusiast. It's a very smooth ride with all the classic B&M elements, but for people who have been on a B&M before, such as Medusa, Knight Flight or even Kumba, it's nothing special. But i agree it's just what the park needed, and i always enjoy riding it (especially due to the short lines!).
Ive visited SFNE several times so far this summer, and every visit I enjoyed BDK. I LOVE the ride. Its not a Medusa (east or west) or kraken, but its not supposed to be. I think its a great coaster. Short, fast, great combination of elements, it is a nice ride. But Mind Eraser is nothing close to BDK. BDK is unique and compact, making it more extreme. But ME is simply just fast, old, and rough. Not to mention that its a huge clone found everywhere.

Formally known as Millenium Force29, Alpengiest is the best!

I read great things about it on RRC during media day back in May but nothing since then. I rode it the weekend of it's grand opening and found it short, rough, and just plain not fun...especially from a B&M.

It was suprisingly rough, not vibrational like SFWoA's BKF, actually rough, especially in the corkscrews...ouch! The view from the steep prototype lift hill, nice first drop, and zero g roll, along with nice theming, is about all the good I can say about BtDK...

Oh well...

this coaster was majorly under-hyped. Its a great ride with an excellent flow of elements. When it debuted, i dont remember hearing that much about it, seemed like no one cared.

Anyways, its not a ride to be missed, in my opinoin it has a great zero-g roll which i found better than Medusa Easts and possibly Kumbas. It might even be the best one out there now!

just because its small doesnt mean its not a great ride. ( we should all know this by now)

At first, I thought this ride wasn't any special either. I went on it 4 times my first visit this season and thought it was a 5 out of 10. But the 5th time I rode it (2nd visit), I enjoyed it a lot more than before. As I kept riding it I noticed little things that make it an amazing, nice ride.

The first drop's steepness makes for a great 1st drop, the G's going into the loop feel great, the hangtime at the top of the loop, the smoothe whipping action that turns you up-side-down entering the dive loop, the near 90 degree banking on the turn-around, the amazing weightlessness through the 0-g roll and even in the 1st corkscrew are all great. The 2nd corkscrew is a little rough, I'll agree with that. Even the end of the ride where the track straightens out before the brakes is fun too.

Not until the 6th or 7th time riding B: TDK did I realize these cool things that make the ride good. I've rode it in the front, back, and middle. You feel the G's no matter where you sit. The view from the front is amazing and getting pulled down the 1st drop sitting in the back is great too. You can feel that action sitting in the middle also.

The way I see it, you're getting a great ride no matter where you're sitting. Now I rate this an 8 out of 10. You just have to ride it enough to notice some things that make the ride a good one.
