Badnitrus is moving to Casterbuzz

I would wager that BadNitrus and company put in more work than any other coaster-related webmaster. Feel free to prove me wrong, as I probably am, but the point remains that they put a lot of hours into that stuff. Their stuff looks better than the official videos from any coaster firm and this is without any blueprints! I give them tons of credit for everything they do and am always anxiously awaiting the next ride. Good job!

...and so Jeff doesn't feel left out, thank you VERY much for providing us with a fantastic message board. I like how you keep it free from clutter, unlike other boards out there. You do a great job and I appreciate the work you put into keeping us up to date with the latest news and happenings in the coaster world.

B&M Webmaster, you're exactly right about their animations being better than the actual videos released by the companies. If you're seen Raging Bull or Medusa's animation released by B&M vs. the new video created by Mike (Viper) of Batman Knight Flight, you'll see that it blows B&M's vidoes out of the water.

I'm telling you, when you see this animation, your jow will hit the floor. It's simply incredible.

Some of the previous animations were done by Intraxx, and I'm sure they paid thousands and thousands of dollars for them. Kinda funny that they could have save a buck and got something better with the Badnitrus guys!

If I'm not mistaken Jeff, Intraxx uses the actual CAD/D information and directly translates it into a 3-D model, whereas the boys over at Badnitrus don't use those kinds of numbers (because they don't have them, lol). Considering Badnitrus uses a keen eye and any picture they can get, Intraxx has it easy! All they have to do in order to make the model is create a plane on which everything sits, add attributes to the objects (colors, textures), add trees, grass, water, and a pretty picture for the background.

To me it doesn't make sense. Send some pictures over to Badnitrus, a check and you get a 3-D model that's just as good as one by Intraxx.

That's what's so amazing to me. If they're getting the CAD files, you'd think they'd at least get the details right. Badnitrus gets chains, railings, brakes, better looking trains, etc... and it's all from eyeballing it! If I bought something from Intraxx, I couldn't help but feel seriously ripped off.

Just for once I'd like to see people say "thank you" for anything that any Webmaster does, regardless of its scope or update frequency. There is more crap on the Internet than there is quality. Be glad these are two guys who focus on the quality."

Amen Jeff. I know that personally I am actually getting emails demanding that I update, but with marching band, I can barely even touch a computer xcept for homework. From one fellow webmaster to another, thanks for such a great and informative site.

Web sites may not be free forever, kiddies, so you better enjoy what you've got now. It's been a bad year for coaster sites.

He has a good point there,  Websites are getting more expensive to maintain, as they were before some of the recent events in the US, and its only going to get worse.  I think the next step is for more sites to start charging for membership.  I personally feel very angry because I saw why Dan closed down his site and I see it happening other places.  People begged for things and when Dan finally gave it to them, they whined and complained and said it wasn't "good" enough.  If its not good enough for you, why complain?  Just pretend it isn't there and let the rest of us enjoy it.

I think we should all be emailing the coaster companies' public relations departments to look at Badnitrus' animations. Maybe they too would prefer the superior quality output of Badnitrus. Just think of the income that could be generated for the website if the big companies would use Badnitrus instead of other options. We'd all be much happier too with the higher quality videos out there for promotion of the new coasters.

Thanks for all you do, both Badnitrus and Coasterbuzz.

Hypersonic..... indeed.

Keith and Viper are the masterminds!
So far, the only park that contacted Badnitrus for an animation was Dorney. I'm sure they were very pleased with the result.

If coaster companies saw Badnitrus' quality renderings, I might be so bold as to say that Intraxx would be out of some customers.

The videos and renderings just keep getting better and more precise. It still amazes me how awesome their images are.

I vaguely remember seeing a Badnitrus animation of Phantom's revenge on a Discovery Channel show...my mind is a bit foggy right now, but I do remember it. Can anyone back me up?

Are you sure it wasn't an official animation? I didn't think that he did one for Kennywood, but maybe I'm wrong...

Indeed, 3dsmax is a hard program to deal with. I just finished modeling Hypersonic as my first ever 3d model, and it took months to do. Be thankful of all the rides that Badnitrus has on their website.

http://ntorres2003.tripod.com  will be updated soon and full of Hypersonic images

I stand corrected...I must have missed that update. :)

So, he has 2 official animations for 2 separate parks under his belt. I wonder if Cedar Point would give Keith a chance to stun us with his talents for their next attraction. Dorney did, so at least Cedar Fair recognizes him.

Remember... it's not just Keith in that outfit. If I remember correctly, Mike is responsible for many of the animations (including Batman Knight Flight) and also the train modeling.

I thought I heard that the Badnitrus guys went into their own computer modeling business when their Phantom's Revenge and Talon animations were snapped up by the respective parks.  I remember hearing that, maybe it was a rumor?  If not, well they should!  ;)  I totally agree that anything that Badnitrus does is on par, if not better than any of the "official" animations put out by parks.  Watching the animation of X at Coasterpalooza was good, but I sure hope that Badnitrus does it so it'll be better!  By the way Keith or Mike, any chance you'll do the Incredible Hulk?  Or is it already on there?  I can't remember.  :)

Yeah, they have a new guy named Chris too. They were supposed to get an official business name a while ago, but they haven't posted much about it since.
