Back button?

Okay, so I've tried this using both IE and Mozilla, and the same thing happens whenever I surf the new site.

Whenever I open a subcategory in the forums (i.e. Trip Reports, or Suggestions) I can open up topics, go back and forth between pages, etc. like normal.

However, when I try to use the 'back' button to go back to the main forums page to select a different subcategory, the button won't work. When I bring down the drop down menu on the 'back' button, in between the listings for the main forums page and the subcategory pages there is a listing for a page named " (untitled) ". I cannot pass it with either the back or forward buttons.

I noticed this same thing on Kennywood Boulevard when they updated to the newer version, also. I thought it may be my machine, but since it occured here when you updated it, it would seem to be site-specific.

For someone deeply entrenched in using 'back' and 'forward' it can be quite a hard habit to break, and annoying when it won't work. Of course, I can use the drop down menu at the bottom of the forums pages to access the different categories, but I thought you'd like to know nonetheless.

Try right clicking, and the clicking on back there. That might work.

This is a problem that Jeff addressed in another thread:

"As for the back button thing, yeah, I'm aware of it, and there isn't much I can do about it yet. A non-real page seems to be inserted into the history (use the drop-down on your back arrow to see it) because of the editable iframe (where you post)."

I hadn't seen that (obviously)... anyone know why this would happen? Jeff obviously doesn't intend it to. Anything I can do to avoid it?

Interesting. I didn't notice that with Opera, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It doesn't happen with Safari, which is a kind of an odd browser; let me check Chimera, which is Mozilla-based...user checks......Chimera doesn't do it either. So either Jeff fixed whatever it was, or it doesn't happen in OS-X.

I've had no problem using it with Mozilla 1.2.1. Mabey you just need to update your browser kpjb.

You wouldn't notice it in any browser but IE on Windows, Dave, because as I explained, it has to do with the editable iframe used as a post box, which is strictly an IE Windows feature.

Hmmm... maybe it didn't happen in Mozilla then. I could be mistaken, I thought I tried them both, though.

If all I have to do is use a different browser, that's an easy enough solution.
