That's why I said in the second half of my post

"It sucks to see a coaster go like this and I understand the emotional attachment, but there just aren't that many situations where saving a coaster like this really makes sense."

Maybe you misread the tone of my post or maybe I'm misreading yours because it seems to me that we're pretty much agreeing on most points here.
