I can't wait for the new Chinese Acrobat ahow at Great Escape.
Ahhhhh... I bet in 2006, I'll be so happy that GE is finally getting something after 7 years.
I want a real coaster too Chu, but we must be happy that at least we are getting a coaster, and a excellent flatride. Among all things, It's says Paramount hasn't forgotten Wonderland. Unlike Six Flags which seems to neglect certain parks..(don't want to hear about Demographics, or Census, blah, blah..)
2002 is the year my friend. With all that development around the park, you know attendance is going up. I see big things for PCW next year, one of which I hope is a 200+ ft tall megacoaster...
Of course I'm happy with PKI. A new coaster, a very rethemed log flume, and 2 new FX theatre films! Hopefully I can be even happier in 2002!!! ;)
CP - After a big year in 2000 it's nice of them to lay off a year with Lighthouse Point and midway renovations.
SFWoA - Many of you may think that we are rather spoiled here in northern Ohio but I am NOT excited about X Flight, (can't explain it)though after driving by the park on Sunday to check on its progress I am impressed by how fast it has gone up in such a short time. I am happy that finally we have one large park instead of two seperate gates across Geauga Lake from each other. I look forward to what lies in store in the future.

Being about 25 miles away from Rye, Playland, I guess that would be considered my home park. Playland is just getting a Shoot the Chutes ride but I should be happy considering that they seldom add a new attraction. I really consider my home parks to be Six Flags Great Adventure and New England, both being about the same distance away. In 2001, I will have two of the best hypers within two hours. Thats not too bad if you ask me.
I`m happt with what my homepark, PKI is getting. Runaway Reptar, I`ll ride it but I`m not looking forward to riding it. The thing that excites me more is that PKI decided to renovate the Kings Mills Log Flume now know as Wild Thornberrys River Adventure as it is one of the few remaining attractions from when the park opened and one of the few from Coney ISland (Cincinnati) which Kings Island replaced in 1972. Only 31 more days till PKI opens!!

It's my home park too, and I've heard rumours about basically anything from a hypercoaster, to a TA2K, to a Dutchman. Personally, I have no clue what they are getting.
I think they should buy more land right now though. With all those houses being built, they're going to start running out of room in a few years... (that is, if they ever add anything).
I was down there a few weeks ago, (for hockey), and houses were even being built right beside the south entrance, (The one on Rutherford road, where I was expecting some new rides or something.)

"No I'm not happy, because we aren't getting ANYTHING at Valleyfair, and probably won't for another 3 or 4 years, except for some new stupid restaurant that serves year-old microwave heated fat burgers.
grrrr"
I feel your pain. It seems Cedarfair has neglected it because of lack of rivals.
I live in Portland ,OR and my home park is Oaks Park.I would love to see them get a decent sized wooden coaster. On the south end of the park there is an area that is used only for additional parking once in a while that would make a good site for a coaster. The last new ride this park aquired was a Miler junior coaster. The other coaster in the park is a Pinfari Zyklon Looping Star.I have e-mailed the park suggesting they aquire a SBNO coaster such as the Lincoln Park Comet or the endangered PNE/Playland Coaster.
Well, with Justin, Valleyfan, CoasterPlaya, and LocoSpitz it looks like Valleyfair! is finally starting to build up some sort of base (I've been lonely being the only VFer for a while)
Anyway, considering we just got the Power Tower (which is a great addition) I noticed that Cedar Fair is allocating 1 million dollars to VF for Park Improvements. I've heard rumblings that this might go into a High Roller paint job. I'm also guessing that this will be used as general paint jobs to some of the buildings. Replacing some shingles (Some of the buildings need it badly) and possibly adding more trees.
I'm guessing that Knott's won't get a new coaster this year as CF is going to try and milk some ROI from Perilous Plunge and my guess is that WoF will get a coaster and that'd be it for the chain.
I'm guessing Valleyfair is going to try and feed off the PT for another year or two and I'm guessing Knott's will finally get its hyper in 2003 along with an invert for Valleyfair!
To me this isn't wishful thinking, its marketing logic based on how long a company can think it can get a ROI on a ride. I think the PT and the PP will work for a few years in their respective areas.
In 2002 WoF should get a coaster to attempt to boost attendance, although after reading some of the latest press releases from Cedar Fair concerning WoF I think the chain might spend a bit conservative on the park (I hope I'm wrong).
The Point should be well fed from a great investment in the Lighthouse Point and will probably wait out 2002 (despite enthusiasts cries) and take a trip to Alton Towers (along with trips to PKD, SFMM and SFWOA) and see which of the new breeds of coasters tickle their fancy. If none of these are very appealing to the Point my guess is that they'll still go forward and visit with either GCI and/or CCI to get a small to medium sized twister while stressing a way to try and minimize maintainence costs.
Just some thoughts.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
adventuredome is getting a chance chaos, it's already built and about to begin test and adjust. will be open first week of april just before spring break here in vegas.
I am extremely pleased with SFGADV. i finally got a B&M hyper close to home! ill be there more often than not this year!
With Nitro a mere 20 min. away, how could I possibly complain.
My homepark is Kennywood. I think Phantom's Revenge will be an okay ride. Even though I didn't ride it yet so I can't tell.
Is it true Runaway Reptar is gonna have a loop? I've heard a lot of rumors about this and i just don't know? Thanx!

I highly doubt that PkI FaNaTiC. Maybe a little helix or something, but not a loop. I wish I knew the specs of the coaster.
Can we say NO? I drove by WOF a few days ago, Worlds of Fun opens in 30 days and there has not been one Iota of construction done at Worlds of Fun (bear country area is very visible from the road). I can tell you what this means, Camp Snoopy is going to be REAL BAD cut and paste job from Bear Country. Plus only two kiddie rides. *sigh* Will things every change?
My home park is SFDL, we all know that they got nothing in the way of rides this year. However they did build a new gift shop. You can now make reservations for the campground and the hotel, right over the internet through their web site.
Hey what more could we ask for. This should increase attendance by 1 or 2 people. Hopefully 2002 will bring us new rides and coasters, although I won't hold my breath.
Well not really, I am by PGA, the Psycho Mouse looks killer and I'm not tired of Stealth yet... The Stan Lee 7th Portal sounds great but I was hoping for the rumored Tilt or the Hypersonic, the park got everyones hopes up then let them down, so I am a bit bitter about the XLC tease we had but I'm optimistic about the 2002 season
