are stand-ups gone for good?

I haven't ridden any Stand-Ups but one, which is Shockwave at PKD. It isn't much, but its good enough for me...personally I think its fine.

If they left, I'd be said, but maybe happy if better rides were made.

I Think everywon hates them becuase they think of the Crap machinces that B&M built when they frist started out. Stand ups that are new are Like Chang, RR and Mantis! RR is my number one steel it is awesome!

I don't think so Todd. B&M only made one of those "crap machines" before the 4 newer ones. That would be Iron Wolf at SFGAm. I don't think so.

That PKD! Always trying to steal the glory. Kings Island built the first stand-up roller coaster.

Okay, I think we have some confusion here. King Cobra is the name of the stand-up coaster at PKI. King Kobra is a shuttle loop at PKD. And while King Cobra may have been the first coaster built as a stand-up, EXT at Worlds of Fun was the first stand-up coaster. They converted it from a sit-down to a stand-up in 1983, and then it was converted back to a standard sit-down the next year.

Why would Knott's get a stand-up if SFMM already has the giant RRv? Hello? They're both in the same marketing area as well. And RRv is still a new ride. Plus newer concepts have sprouted since the giant B&M stand-up era of Chang, Mantis, & RRv, and why build an Arrow Corkscrew when you could build an Arrow 4th Dimension? Exactly.

The accident at SFSTL was totally rider error.....
And besides, the early stand ups are pieces of junk...come on....the early ones are TOGOS!!

The most awsome element ive ever been on has to be the 0-G-Roll on Shockwave at Drayton Manor so i really hope stand-ups arnet dead.

Thank you, I was waiting for someone to say that!! Isn't that the only Stand up 0 g in the world?? What a rush in the front "Seat"!
