Are roller coaster you ride getting boring?

Over the course of a season, there are only a few coasters that i will not re-ride often. But that is not due to "boredom" but rather, I just do not like those rides (see Shockwave @ PKD).

Typically though, I'm not the type that likes to ride the same thing over and over and over again. Hence, ERT is not an extraordinary draw for me. What I like about ERT events is when they let you do something you normally cannot do (Raven in the pitch black, S:ROS @ SFA in the pitch black, etc..)

But I dont think I could ever just campout more than say an hour on any one ride without at least a *twinge* of boredom. Like the first CoasterZombies event I went to, we rode S:ROS in the pitch black for like 25 times straight. By about time 17, I started thinking about doing something else, but there was nothing else to do. Pretty much, I'll ride a ride twice, maybe three times, then move on.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

....jeremy, S:RoS is the ONE steelie I could ride "until the (South Park) Cows come home"....Good woodies, no problem, they have such subtle changes from ride to ride.

Can't really say the Beemer showroom down here *bores* me, but a nice airtime filled Intamin (or a nice terrain CCI)certainly would BOOST our line-up a bit....

hell no they never get boring. Although SFWoA has alot of good coasters. At the end of the season last year I just realized how fun Raging Wolf Bobs is. And Superman is still fun even though it just goes back and forth.

And even though Hershey isn't my home park. After riding Wild Mouse 30 times in one day it was still one of the funnest rides at the park.

Rides that I love never get boring to me, no matter how many times I ride. I've ridden ST, CE, Ghostrider, CLP Blue Streak, Viper @ SFGAm, Lightning Racer, and Phoenix "into the ground," and loved every second of it.

I've never felt compelled to marathon a ride that I thought was "ok" just for the sake of it because I know that would get really boring really fast.

I've found that after ride endlessly so many times last season, I decided to take it easy on myself this year instead of burning myself out. I do plan on breaking 1,000 rides on Superman: UE this year. That's basically my only goal when it comes to rerides. I will be riding about 160-170 different coasters this year so I just don't really have that kinda time on my hands anyway.

Coasterman Mike - what are your plans Jewels? :)

Now, a card carrying member of ACE.
Total rides on Pittfall: 255
Total rides on Superman:UE : 633

Living in Oregon like I do,I dont' get to ride as often as I would like.I only rode 4 coasters last year,so it would be hard for me to get bored with riding coasters. The last time I went to the Vancouver PNE/Playland in August 2000,I rode Coaster all day until I left the park at closing.I could have ridden more if it wasn't for the park closing.

I can fix anything.....where is the duct tape?

I am also a coaster fan, so I will never get board of riding coasters.
