Steel coaster sometimes can become boring after repeated rides. It really depends on the coaster. I don't think I'll ever become bored with X or S:ROS(SFNE). I do have trouble hanging with B&Ms(except their inverts) after multiple rides, not an ounce of surprise remains.
That said, I could ride my favorite wooden coasters from now until doomsday, and I'm *anything* but a woody-snob.
I agree with the B&M point. After a while many many rides, its hard to find variety. And with coasters in general, I think there is some sort of burn out level at some point.

The only coaster I got sick of was SUE ;) I rode it over and over, and it just lost its "spunk". But I still love it ;)
Now rides like Villain, BKF, Raptor, MF, and ROAR I cant get sick of :)

I've been banned 3 times, and I have yet to find a reasonable explanation...
I never get tired of riding the same coasters over and over. It's a rush every time for me I've been riding Blue Streak at CP for 32 years, and its still as much fun now as it was my first time.

There are some that do get boring to me. Then there are some that never get boring.

Americana is opening in 2002 and needs your support as many company picnics are already schedualed for someplace else, Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

SuperJewels,
Hmmmm. I wonder what ride you could be referring to. I've found that glitter sometimes adds life to a coaster you are familiar with - maybe you should try that.
I think what a coaster needs is airtime, you can never go tired of that. Coasters that I've been on that don't have it, regardless of how many loops, how smooth or how many laterals it pulls, they just get very boring very fast.
If it has just one little spot of airtime, then it is able to draw me back a million times.
My favorite coaster happens to be Tower of Terror at Dreamworld, it may be 54 seconds and very little in the way of diversity, but those amazing 7 or so seconds that I'm not touching anything is absolutely breathtaking, nevermind the fact that I am 350ft up, if that same feeling were underground, then it'd still be my favorite.

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

When VF chokes up on WT's midcourse brakes, the ride is a ponderous, time-wasting bore. You're simply going up and down hills instead of catching Morgan's trademark floating air.
But when they're loose, it's as rerideable as anything out there. I've done dozens of laps in a row (well, a CF row--get out, walk around, come back) without losing interest at all.
Please note that WT is not Wicked Twister but Wild Thing, the bucktoothed, embarrassing cousin of all Morgan hypers. At least Morgan seems to think so--it's the only coaster they avoid mentioning on their Web page. Even CaroSeussel gets more attention. Yeesh.
