Are boomarangs THAT bad?

Boomarangs are cheap for parks. Think they are THAT bad for a park? Think maybe they are becopming a tradition for parks? Will anymore be installed? And about how much does a boomarang cost? (in real $$, not RCT :) )
Edit: Where was the first boomarang? *** This post was edited by bigkirby on 7/3/2001. ***

I have to admit, alought they are not the best coaster, they are really pretty fun. The first time i went on one (sidewinder at hershey park) I thought it was awesome, and got back on it that day 6 times. Of course there are better rides, but i think they are pretty fun. The one thing i would have to say i don't like about them is the fact that they keep on getting stuck in the cobra rolls or other sections of the track which eventually makes news head lines giving coasters a bad rep.

Boomerangs aren't really that bad. They put a lot of ride in a small space. But, after you've ridden 10 or so of them they get pretty boring, and you feel like you've been robbed of the opportunity to ride something new.
Are they pretty cheap for parks?

I still ride them. And if it's the only major coaster at a park, oh well. Would I rather be riding an Intamin hyper or B&M invert or Arrow looper? You bet.

boomerang @ Knotts Berry Farm got stuck right in the middle of the cobra roll last month, and was on the news..
I still enjoy boomerangs even though after riding Knott's boomer two weeks ago I can't do them anymore.

But for Invertigos, I love them more than standard boomers.

Is the Knotts boomerang different in comparison to the others? As in, more rough? I don't ever hear anyone else talk about headbanging on other boomerangs...

I love Mind Eraser, its a great coaster and the lines are never long for it. Now will we see any more Boomerangs? It's possible, they are good for parks that lack space and are relatively cheap.

I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep riding roller coasters
I think boomerangs are going to be a tradition at a lot of parks; much like a scrambler or tilt-a-whirl is.

PCW needs something taller than a boomerang

According to RCDB the one at Great Escape cost $5,000,000. I suppose that's cheap in comparison to other coasters, but for a few extra million they could have had a CCI.

I personally hate these rides, for those who travel to many parks there's nothing worse than looking at the park map and seeing a Boomerang or SLC.

They give me a headache and are very boring, but the general public seems to like them!

Its not the coaster that's bad but the horse collars that you bang your head on.
YES they are
Everybody is just too spoiled. So now anytime they see a clone or a small coaster it just isn't good enough.
Depends on Boomerang. SFWoA's is awful, whereas Hershey's is pretty damn good.

the first time i rode the sidewinder @ Hershey I liked the ride, but it hurt, I banged my head so hard on the back of the seat when the ride ended, I had to go home. But my most recent trip to Hershey I got on it twice in a row and it was fun and it didnt hurt i was prepared this time.

They are awsome! They provide such a great experience for such a small space!

I really like boomerangs.  My first ride on one was Bat @ PCW.  I loved it.  The feeling going through the cobra roll backwards is amazing.  I won't say I want more parks to get one, I'll just say I'll ride one at any chance I get.

Boomerangs are great! I like Invertigos better though. That whole facing the other person part is fun. Can't wait till I get on Deja Vu!
