I heard in the news that Freestlye would be adding some major rides in 2010. But there hasent been anything said yet. Anyone know if Freestyle is adding anything new next year?
Yeah that would be sweet. Or get rid of Time Machine(Led Zepplin) and put in a smooth floorless coaster
I really don't foresee the park getting rid of their signature ride anytime soon. Time machine (Led Zep) is one of the main draws to the park, crappy cookie cutter or not.

True. Well they could use a good GCI :)
I honestly wonder what would be the best addition they could make to the park. While they have to watch their financial situation, I'm not sure that adding a coaster would be the wisest idea even if they have the funds to do so.
From what it sounds like, Freestyle does need another staple-attraction to anchor the other corner of the park, but right about now, I think adding in a pack of Zamperla flats, ferris wheel, and shoot-the-chutes ride is due---marketed similarly to SFOT ten-ride addition in 2006. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from the coaster doesn't the parkhave only a carousel, wave-swinger, scrambler, huss breakdance, andtroika....
five rides + that awful dark ride and a kiddie section. That's got to be fixed.
The sad part is that dark ride was awesome in 2008. Anyone know why the new owners changed it?
A good water ride would be a great addition but they have to advertise it very well since those rides don't catch peoples attention like roller coasters
Are you kidding me? Water rides and water slides have a better ROI than coasters. They also have a greater affect on attendence.
I still think the park needs to focus on the other things - get name live entertainment and have local and regional live stuff as much as possible. Step up the shopping and restaurants (preferably music themed, of course). Get some big name acts to put their image on a ride or two.
The only way it's going to work as a park in the sense that everyone here seems to be thinking is if they just ditch everything that made it unique and slap in some been-there-done-that rides...and what's the point of that? There's already tons of that to be found in MB.
The park doesn't need more rides, it needs more everything else and it needs to emphasize the music aspect of it all. As a place to come out and ride it fails miserably (as the $9.99 tickets prove) and did as HRP too. It needs to be a place that you can entice people to spend a day at while in MB.
It needs to be some sort of amusement park/multi-use development/entertainment area/tourist attractions thing under a music themed umbrella with the offerings tempered for specific audiences as the day goes on.
Gotta go with a few other opinions on this one, and say that they need water rides. The water coaster, can't be the only means of cooling off in SC. That's a big lake smack dab in the middle of the park. A log flume could fit in it just fine.
One more thing, kill me if ya want for this, but am I the only one on here that thought the dark ride sucked? Honestly, the queue was the only good part.
The Moody Blues dark ride was unique, since it was redone the ride is junk sadly :(
I'd place my bet on a Shoot-the-Shoots ride for 2010, and a slide or two:)

Problem is they don't have the money for all of that.
Based on what? The new owners got the park dirt cheap and the infrastructure for such a move is already there. In fact, that's kind of what HRP already had going on (kinda) and had they run and marketed it correctly, I think it would've done very well.
A wild mouse and a log flume aren't going to do dick for this place unless the goal is to spend more money and still have to give away tickets for less than $10.
Sorry for double posting but i found some pictures from behind the tiki huts of steaks in the ground possibly for a log flume

True. A log flume would be a nice addition but they need to get some musical acts and turn that place into a rock and roll history park
