Well I'm going to Cal later on in July and this ride looks awesome. I was looking over on ACN and on one guy on one of the threads has 2 pages of opening day pictures. And they also have a Pov Video. Just go to:
Enjoy!!

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?
Teenage Ninja, Xcelerator isn't pneumatic (air run), it's Hydraulic.
And I just got back from the farm (yes, lucky me :)) and I can confirm that HyperSonic XLC is inferior to to this new Intamin AG Rocket Coaster. It surpasses XLC in every way imaginable, and is probably the finest catapult coaster on this continent, following second behind the overseas Dodonpa in Japan.

No, I haven't. I usually don't judge upon hearing stats or by looking at pictures, but 0-107 MPH in 1.8 seconds?
That Xcels Xcelerator...
I can't even imagine how the Dodonpa catapult must be...

"Kool, I can't wait for our trip out there. I was sort of wondering though, For anyone who has ridden it, how does it compare with Hypersonic at Pkd?"
I would say it's a cross between Hypersonic and Millennium Force, but a bit more intense than Hypersonic's launch!
It's only about 25 seconds I think but it is definately one of my top faves now!!!!!
I am just hoping the other Cedar Fair parks (Dorney or Cedar Point) will get something simliar.
Xcelerator is OFF the charts fantastic!!! I am a huge fan of launching coasters so you can imagine how I feel about it!!!

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!
Got to WATCH employees ride the thing for about an hour on Friday....flight back prohibited my riding.....thinking that Knott's made a really big PR blunder by having employees ride while nearly 700 ACErs who came in from 43 states could only watch!
I think a *bit* more....sensitivity may have been in order, esp. considering what they knew about X. I realize they wanted to open it to the public ASAP, but there will be a price to pay.....

Xcelerator supposedly has run at 117 mph, which means it probably got to that speed in 2.0 seconds and 157 feet of track.37 mph more than the advertised speed? I don't think so.
I have heard three times from three different people that, when they were at CP, Millennium Force was shut down because they "couldn't get the speed below 115 mph." I can't believe people think this stuff is true!

I know they tested Xcelerator at speeds exceeding 100 MPH, but I'm not sure how fast.
Looks like an awesome ride. I hope a park around here gets one, but not AstroWorld because AW needs a ride with good throughput.
I just rode Xcelerator this past Saturday on Opening Day. This ride is unbelievable! Words cannot begin to describe it...well, maybe they can. Insane launch, awesome airtime on the top hat. Coming down from the top hat you look down at the track and see it going off to your right and creates an awesome visual illusion. It didn't open in time for CoasterCon but fortunately Knott's gave all attendees free admission on Saturday and Sunday to come back and ride Xcelerator. Amazingly we started waiting around 1 PM and there were only around 20-30 people in front of us. The line never really got outrageously long. My friends and I waited for the front seat which was a little bit longer of a wait but it would have been shorter if it wouldn't have rolled back. All in all, a great ride, can't wait to go back out to SoCal and ride it again.

mmm, roller coaster

Houston Thrills, how do you "know" that? Not to be a prick, but many times when people say they "know" something, it's because they overheard someone talking about it, and assumed that person knew what they were talking about.
Personally, I doubt they would "test" a ride at more than what it's supposed to handle, for fear of tearing apart the trains or track.

Yah one of those 30 in the very front of the line, with black monochrome Converse low-tops, black Dickies pants and jacket, with a shirt that said "You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me" shirt, was me! I waited 8 hours for it! It was really awsome, I posted before, but still I wanna go back right now, but I can't I have summer skoo :(
Just a great ride. Even tho I only got to ride it twice that day. Man can't wait to go w/ girlfriend this weekend :) whooo!
