Anyone else like the sound of an Arrow lift hill?

Is it just me, or is there other people out there that can't help not to love the sound of an Arrow chain lift. It gets to me like the B&M Roar. You know the sound, the lift you can hear within the whole section of the park where the coaster is. When I think of the Arrow lift, SP/PR and Magnum come to my mind. Gotta love their anti-rollbacks..

True of all great coasters of the past and present, and future
it's a ride you'll remember for the rest of your lifeand probably will want to ride again.
I know exactly what you mean and you when I think about it Arrow does have the best lift hill sound. Nothing builds up the anticipation for a coaster more then a good noisy lift hill.
No its to noisy.
I like the noisy Arrow lifts. They just seem right somehow.

Love the sound. Feels like home.

Oh, and it makes it easier to find the Loch Ness Monster. :)

The sound of SP/PR going up the lift is the sound of Summer. It means that Kennywood is open! *** This post was edited by Phantom Catcher on 8/7/2001. ***
Throw in a vote for me as well. My favorite lift hill at SFMM is Viper. It sounds the way a lift hill should sound.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
Arrow lifts are great. The Double Loop's lift is identical tot the Magnum lift hill. Gotta love it.

I love Arrow Lift hills also. I love the fealing of going up and fealing every antirollback on the hill. It is great.
It's the first thing you'll hear when you get out of your car in the parking lot at Sfgadv. For the many years that i have been going,The park wouldn't be the same without the sound of Gasm's lift hill since it was built.I wish it could ride the way it did when it first opened :(

I cant remember who I was with (I think it was GregLeg and Phantom's Revenge, though it might have been Wild One and Anaconda) but we were having a discussion about how unique that sound is. Everytime I hear it I think of Shockwave @ SFGAm and how much I liked riding it, while still being scared of the American Eagle (hey OTSRs still feel safer to me...)

Forogt to add that the coolest part of an Arrow lift is when the train disengages the lift. It sounds like the AB's are being ripped apart by the chain. It sounds great.
I like the sound of a Intamin Cable Lift... :) heheh...

SFWoA's Double Loop, CP's Corkscrew, and SFGAm's Demon and Shock Wave - truly wonderful sounds to hear, especially Double Loop's when they awaken the old girl after a long, silent winter. It's truly blissful.

Yep, the good noisy lift just seems right on a coaster. I love Arrow's lift and also the sound of a PTC train on a lift. To me, those 2 sounds make a good coaster better.

It's a simple equation: CCI + CP = #1 Wooden Coaster!
They sound kinda cool when you're a little way away but when you're actually riding the ride it just is to loud!

I HATE THEM....hehe

When I worked at the Adventuredome Canyon Blaster has that noisy lift. Its made worse due to the fact that its indoors.

The worst part about the lift is when it "skips-a-dog". That is the loudest and scariest thing you have ever heard in your life! It happens on Canyon Blaster because it leaves the station so quickly arround the pre-lift turnaround that when it hits the chain it is going faster than it so it skips the chain. The result is it falls back upon engaging the lift casuing the lift to shake. If the train is not balanced one of the chain lifting dogs wont attatch properly meaning the train slips back down resulting in a loud BANG! not to mention screams from people on the ground and those on the train due to the fact that you gotta stop the lift.

AH....the joys of being a ride op...hehe
