anyone been on Son Of Beast before?

I rode Son of Beast about 11 times and the first time was tlast year and i rode with my stepsisters and my bro we waited 3 hours and 45 minutes but it was worth it. the first hill is super steap and it is loud and you can hear the lift hill in the parking lot. Evertime i ride it it gets better and better. If u want a smooth ride ride on the wheels. But for a better ride don't ride towards the front or on the wheels. And if ur feeling like a dare devil ride in the last seat on the last train. If u ride it better wear extra padding cause it bangs u around like a rag doll. Everyone come and ride SOB in the worlderful Ohio and while ur there ride the father who started it sll The Beast even though it is kinda boring it seems to go faster than son of beast it also bangs u around.if u sit in the back that is liking trying to kill yourself but it is still fun so come to PKI!!!!!!! You'll never forget thses two badd a** wooden coasters!! The loop on SOB is so tall and smooth it roskzz!! *** This post was edited by MilleniumForceBugger_05 on 7/10/2001. ***
Looking back I think that I may have phrased things poorly in an effort to be funny. I don't mean to be bashing either ride. They are both very impressive SOB for size and Beast for environment. Its just that when I rode them last August early in the day, they were both incredibly rough. I was physically sore afterwards. I am reasonably athletic and in good shape, but I have never felt as beat up as that after a ride. The outer limits was worse with its OTSR. I definitely think both should be ridden, but unless something on them has changed I would not wait the requisite hours to ride them again. Darn it still sounds like bashing, I am going to shut up now. Do a trip report and let us know what you think.
After waiting a whole year to ride the thing I couldn't believe how rough it was. Maybe because it was the first ride of the day and there were only 6 people on it (ACE walkback) made it rougher, but I did go on it again before closing and it was just as bad.

I still like the ride because of it's height, but it should have been designed as an out-and-back like Colossus and maybe then it wouldn't have been so rough. The loop was the only smooth part.

Out of 100 coasters on my last visit to the US, SOB was only 1 of 3 coasters to give me bruises, the others were Raging Wolf Bobs and Thunderhawk.

As for the Beast, that is the single best coaster ever built!

I just rode it yesterday(7-10-01) for my first time. It's a good ride but a little rough.
I rode it in April of this year, and thought it was great. I really liked how out of control and almost brutal it was. It's definitely not for everyone. If speed and an agressive ride are your thing, then you'll love it. If not...

I agree. Like I said before, Son of Beast is one of my favorite rides so I have experienced it in every row. I found, for some odd reason, that the middle row is comfortable while the front or back row in a car is sheer pain. I also found that for the best experiences ride in the middle row front car, or middle row back car. Both are excellent.
