I don't think there are any woodies like that. I have two guesses though.
One: I think it may have somthing to do with the chain engaging properly and the momentem of the train.
Two: My guess its that it could be for an added block section. If the lift is hooked to the station the lift and station would be one block instead of two, leaving only the brakes for another block section.
I'm sure Ride Man will have the answer. Good question.

Rampage and Megafobia also have the lift hill directly in front of the station, but there may be a slight bend.

I think what the original author had in mind was a woody that goes *directly* into the lift from the station. A steel example of that would be Lazer Loop at Dorney or Revolution at SFMM.
