Any news on Avalanche (Timber Falls-WI Dells)?

I can tell you right now Avalanche is not going to be ready to open by the end of May. I wouldn't expect it to open until July.

redman: two thoughts.

First, a colleague once told me that if you don't miss a plane once in a while, you're spending far too much time at airports. That cuts that 1.25 hrs down to 0.4.

Second, don't even *think* about checking a bag. Another 20 minutes!

so that saves me...what. 1 hour. The additional cost of airfare and car rental well outweighs one (or even two) hour worth of saved time...
Is it just me, or are the diagrams that S&S supplies for their wood coasters rather inaccurate? Considering that, Avalanche could wind up being a lot better than it looks in drawings.
Well, sure, but it's an hour... ;)

Rob: Or it could wind up being the tallest, longest picket fence in the Midwest. I'd hope for accuracy, but that's just me.

Brian: Tack on another hour if you're flying AA with checked luggage and another day till you actually get it. Did the Samsonite gorilla from the 70s move up into management there?

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

It is not just you, Rob. I pointed out on the first page of this thead that the diagram is already inaccurate based on the pics we have already.
Playa: I wonder what the record holder is for tallest picket fence? Not like it matters in the Dells, just curious is all.

Raven: I wonder how accurate all those diagrams of the Clementon coaster are? And I wonder what all of those "fake" ones actually were?

I'm sure the "fake" ones were simply early drawings or earlier versions of the Clementon ride. The date on the blueprint sitting at the Avalanche site is January 22nd, and I'm pretty certain there were numerous drawings before that one.

Maybe it was originally designed to be larger than Zeus. I hope that the original claim that this was to be the biggest coaster in the midwest means they are not going for a family coaster and S&S is trying to give the ride some kick.
