Any MF trouble??

Nick just called me and let me know that our friend, with a 39" waist fit into MF and TTD. He said it was a bit of a squeeze but he fit.

He also mentioned, like six or seven times, that he received a rollback on TTD. 'Dem bastards.

Adrenaline Whore.

When am I going to get my rollback????? ;) *** Edited 5/14/2005 11:55:39 PM UTC by CP ismyhome***

does anyone have any pictures of these new restraints? because I have been looking for both S:ROS and MF pictures of these restraints, and i can't find any. There aren't like the Perilous Plunge, are they?
Wow, I was just over on RCDB and saw a pic of Xcelerator with a modified seat setup. Sorry I don't have a clue how to link people over there to see. Knott's is a Cedar Fair park, I can't imagine why nothing at all was done with Millennium Force in the off season last winter!

Does Cedar Point have a sign up anywhere near the entrance saying that if you have above a 36 inch waist that you might not be able to fit the restraints? Because that would help a lot I would think, not to mention save people the wasted time in line and no doubt embarassment of not being able to fit.

The Millenium Force ride Ops: Squishing you where it counts since 2000. Track Record: 89 coasters
I received something in the mail from them where it lists general mens and women clothing sizes as a determinate. However, some people are shaped differently so you can not always tell. Normally I would say that the test seat is your best option, but not in the MF case now.

If the Cedar Point website was up right now, I could see if the info was on there. Oh well.

Here's the info from CP and their FAQ from http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/tips_faq/faqs.cfm :

What is considered exceptional size where rides are concerned?
All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seatbelts, must be positioned, fastened and tightened to allow guests to ride.

Due to rider restraint system requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to, males who exceed 6'2", and those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40" waistline or 52" chest or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear size 18 or larger. Each person has different body proportions, so it is impossible to determine exact size and weight.

Guests who have ridden Millennium Force in the past may no longer meet the requirements of the current rider restraint system.

Our larger guests may experience difficulty on Blue Streak, Chaos, Corkscrew, Disaster Transport, Mantis, maXair, Mean Streak, Millennium Force, Mine Ride, Power Tower, Raptor, Top Thrill Dragster, Wave Swinger, Wicked Twister.

I don't know why CP jus doesn't list all of there rides, it seems that you have to be anorexit to ride anything at CP.
I was there on 5/18. I have muscular legs with 36" waist. The seat belt did not have anything to do with my waist. The seat belts were below the belt line for me. I had 2 to 3 inches once I strapped on.

My gosh, the loading of the train was very, very slow. Three train operation but never more than one train on the track. More often than not, the third train was on block brakes and waiting before another train was dispatched. This is much slower than last year.

Probably not substantially different than last year, but you are right in that it is slower than previous years. MF did 1.7 million riders its opening year and 1.9 in 2001. It also did 1.7 in 2003, but after the seatbelt policy was implemented last year, it dropped to just over 1.5 million. A great hour on MF is 1,000 riders, with average probably being 8-900. By contrast, Magnum and Raptor pull over 1,500 consistently (and in the 2 million range each season). Believe me - I don't think it's because the MF crew doesn't try. They just have a very tough situation to deal with.

My advice is to either get there early and ride it first, or ride it last. Avoid standing in a long, slow moving line during the hot and busy part of the day.

Yep, right at open or close worked great for us.

I was amazed to see only 1 person asked to leave the whole time we were there, and my chubby husband wasn't even blinked at in line. After reading this thread, I was almost ready to cancel our trip...

...arms up, legs out, now SCREAM!...
I had a wee bit of trouble when i went on the 14th. i had to lift my hoodie up out of the way to get it to snap shut and there was almost no slack if any at all. Im no 40 inch waist but im pretty damn close. i say we all storm the intamin building and force the president and whoever else that gets in our way to fix the problem.

Cedar Point Born and Bred The World looks so much better 420 feet up...
America is crazy!

They push food in every aspect of our lives, and the seats in amusement parks are getting smaller and smaller... Its total crap. Lets protest or something...

so going back to that Xcellerator seat config-is that how MF is? Does that side "C" foam thing fold up and down with the restraint? that looks horribly ugly
is it just MF or is it other coasters as well that you have this trouble on?
I haven't been to CP this year but I don't think that the seats are anything like Xcellerator. I wish they would do something..."anything", that would make the attraction as rider friendly as it used to be before last year.
