Any "Coaster Deals" with your family?

I get nothing for good grades, and I've never missed Honor Roll in my life!

Damn all these rewards. I don't get to go to theme parks for making all As, just get threatened to be banned from them if I don't :P
i make deals all the time. the one that i just started today was if i get above an 85 on my math exam, a redo. We can go to the ACE Day at Paramount Canada's Wonderland. I lost about 8 trips this year cause i failed math. i was mad but i still got to go to a couple parks.

Same here, man, the smart peeps get the least fun!

Hate to tell all you "I'll be driving soon, and I'll be 18 next year peeps" you've got it easy right now! I'm 31 and when I was in my teens I would have paid anything to go to a park other than SFSTL (if you don't count SDC which had 1 coaster when I was in my teens) but couldn't get anyone to take me and had to beg other people or my brother to take me to SFSTL(30 min. drive). I thought "as soon I start working and can drive I'll go where ever I want" but somewhere between "going where ever" and getting a full time job with bills to pay those trips NEVER happened. My first amusement park outside of Missouri was CP when I was 28, and only because work had me on the road between Detroit and Columbus with a weekend to kill. So the moral is don't count your trips before they happen, and enjoy what you do get!

Just a couple of G-force junkies!
My dad promised to take me to one state each year with the purpose to ride roller coasters. Last year was Ohio, this year was California, and next year will probably be Texas. I don't have to keep up grades or anything.

That's what years of coaster-talk can do for you! :)
Never bow to bribery. Get good grades for yourselves and nobody and nothing else. Go to the parks when you can, don't let people lord things over you.

Be you for yourself, do your own things for yourself.

People who get money for passing exams or getting grades will find it harder to learn the value of money. The fact that they have to have the incentive of money to motivate them is not necessarily a good thing. Trust me, independence it the best way, ask for nothing but what you need and people will respect you a whole lot more.

Greed is the road to ruin!

I agree. When I started college last year, I realized I was glad my parents didn't reward me for good grades (3.92 GPA). In college, it's a whole other game. When you are in college you should be striving for good grades because you want to succeed, not becuse you will get money rewards. (plus, with the cost of college, that's enough money as it is)
I just think the transition will be easier if you go in not expecting anything for your hard work. Trust me, it will all pay off in the end.
Well... my deal is, if I have a birthday next year (yes), I get to go to PKI, CP, and SFWoA on a coaster-only trip. Also, I get to go to 1 to 3 of these sets of parks:

1
SFMM

2
PKD
BGW
SFA(?)

3
SFEG

I'm hoping for 3 :)
My parents expect me to keep my grades up but even when I do what do I get jack squat. But as soon as I get my lisence I will have no worries when it comes to getting to go on coasters.
