Anton's Coasters A dying breed (DYING SOON)

The whizzer at six flags great america is strongly rumoured to be taken down in august for the 2003 arrival of a B&M flyer or a 4th dimension clone whats almost confirmed is the whizzer is being taken down and they will get a new b&m for at least the second half of the 2003 season

Yeah, so I've heard. It's a terrible thing really. We saw more Schwarzkopft coasters go down these past few years than any other time. :( So many lost in such short time...

It's sad to see the demise of the Schwarzkopf Speedracer, especially sinse I've never ridden one. If the 4D clone was the rumored replacement, I wouldn't count on that at all. X is still down for the count, AND its design was specific to the hillside that it sits on.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

I didn't actually think his rides were that great. But its too bad anyway.

Well you guys have to compare what we are giving up to make room for what we are getting.

Track Record: 110 and counting.....

Perhaps we enthusiasts can organize something to save the Whizzer. Perhaps a nonprofit orgcan be established and Six Flags could donate the ride as opposed to paying for it to be scrapped. Enthusiasts could pay for the moving. It is a possibility. Someone email me and we can try to set something up.

Its so sad to see some of his coasters go. Only being an enthusiast for a little over 1 year, I have really come to realize how influential he was to the whole industry. Anton's coasters should be preserved in memory of him and for future generations to enjoy. I mean looks at Taz's Texas Tornado, his so called masterpiece is sitting rotting away.

Alright, what I don't get is your motive from your other thread. You say, let's save the Whizzer, so that they just move it, not sell it. Alright, if SFGAm moves the whizzer, where would they put it? I mean wouldn't they just build the the new 2003 ride, in that empty spot? I mean it's kind of pointless to move a coaster to another spot, and build a new one in that space. Why just not leave the old coaster where it is, and put the new one where the proposed space for the "old coaster" is. Instead of building one then you have to build two. If the whizzer is going down, it's going outta there, and to another state, most likely.

Viperkid.....holy crap! After checking your info... you haven't even been born yet!

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

when we say move it we mean to another park . We didnt mean move it to another space in the park and six flags more then likely wouldnt be paying for reconstruction

My bad about me being born in '02. I fixed it. And Coaster Sam, thanks. That was real nice. I apperciate it. Look, it's a bird, no, it's a plane, it's Blue Angel, the 2003 B&M flyer, that has sadly taken place of Coaster Sam's Whizzer. Maybe if you raise enough money, they can mail the Whizzer to you. That would be cool!

That's too bad, I really like some of his coasters and his Jet Stars and Jumbo Jets are awesome fun. It'd be really sad to see the Whizzer go (unless it goes to my backyard, of course). It's one cool ride.

Save Whizzer its better than that old POS Shockwave. There is a coaster that needs to be melted down.

Sorry folks, but Whizzer id down for the count, for good. If you want to ride it, GO NOW because it will either end up in the scrap heap or in a 3rd world amusement park in South America.

As long as they dont remove the beautiful Revolution (and take out the OTSR's)

I wouldn't be so sure Whizzer is going. The park has in no way hinted that it is gone, the rumor just somehow started. I used to think they might take it out, but I was there yesterday, and it had pretty big lines. I know the capacity isn't that great and parts are probably rare, but I think a coaster with a line like that earns its stay. If they really need to take something out, then go after Shockwave, with almost no line all the time. I don't see why they have to take anything out to add a new ride though, they have lots of empty space. Take a look at IB and then look at GAm. The ride planners at IB could probably fit 15 more CCI's in at Great America. At least 2 could fit in around Shockwave alone, there is a ton of space there. ;)

Absolutely. And very little compares to any Schwarzkopf coaster. Keep them standing!

Just because a coaster has a line does not mean it is safe from being removed. Zinger at WOF was very popular and always had a line. I am not saying I think Whizzer is gone, we will just have to wait and see. It will be a very sad day if they do indeed remove it.
