Another "Banshee" mishap

Yamaha made an ATV (4wheeler) called the Banshee... Fast, fast, fast!! It's probably the most intense ride on dirt, and they called it the Banshee because when you get on the throttle it flat out SCREAMS...

The trim was sporadic this year, it was off at the beggining of theyear,on in the middle of the year and off at the end of the year.

The trim doesn't ruin the ride at all, its still a good ride with it, but without it, holy geez. The G's are incredible. I think the trim brake isperahps for timing as well as rider comfort.

But on the same not eChang is a bit taller and doesn't have the trim and its first half is a mirror of Mantis, go figure.

peace, love, coasters.

A similar thing was when some church group complained to SFGAm that the Demons old theming was to devilish so the park had to tone it down.

I believe that Banshee at HW is no more, becauce they added a walkway and Liberty Launch. This is what I remember from Paula...

just another interesting mishap with the name Banshee

Just read an article in a magazine that said the original name for the Pontiac Firebird was Banshee. But they decided to change it for the same reason that cedar point changed to Mantis.

-----------------

Actually upon further investigation, the name Banshee was liscensed to a certain ride manufacturers product, and the only way CP could legally use the name, was to pay for it. (something they refused to do) All this whitch stuff is purely a well written urban legend/marketing diversion/name change. That not only got the coasters name into the public numerous times, but addressed Cedar Fairs safety issues once again. SAM

What about the Demon at SFGAM??? Why is their no issues with that name?? I know they changed some of the graphics, but the name still stands. I think the banshee would be a awesome name for a coaster.

Holiday World's Falling Star was also called "Banshee"

I've been P.R. Director here since 1991 and have never received a complaint about the name.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! HW should change the name of their Falling Star...;)

bill, once again assuming the mantle of Trouble Boy so that 'Moosh can travel *incognito* through Southern Indiana...

Too late, 'Gator...Moosh is well known in those parts ... I will never forget last SRM when Paula was trying to get Moosh to "cut in" and dance with Pat Koch (who was dancing with Mick Foley at the time). ;)

I think that is interesting that Banshee is a woman screaming of impending death, while mantis eats its young. They both have some type of death involved.

-----------------

Actually, Veck, it doesn't eat its young...It eats the male after mating...

Kinda appropriate for a stand up coaster.. ;) It renders men unable to mate afterwards, too ;) ;)

Very good well-being lark this...Absolut*ly Reliable

Heh, here in Zanesville, OH, there's an incredibly twisted road, Rte. 666. There have been tons of protests asking for it to be changed. It's still Rte 666.

Marching Band Methods at OSU is Music 666. I find that to be deliciously ironic.

Mickey and Mallory Knox also went on their killing spree on Rte. 666 in "Natural Born Killers." That one (a real road) is somewhere in the southwest.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Nope, it is just Route 66. You youngin's won't remember the song..."get your kicks on Route Sixty-Six."

The real route 666 is in New Mexico and its a real road.
