Amusement Parks 06 version on the Travel Channel

The only problem with watching the show was knowing the winners beforehand. *** Edited 3/26/2006 4:05:46 AM UTC by Richie Reflux***

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

My point was that if you going to spend time and money on producing a show. Get it right.

You dont watch a show on New York and see La footage in it .

Big deal my spelling sucks.

I miss Drachen Fire

Well, maybe somebody involved with the show wrote down some instructions, but there were so many spelling errors, the film editor thought it said "Insert Galxy footage here." :)
Wow. BG Nut, I can't believe you forgot 2 letters in your post!?!

Your sch an idot. ;)

I agree that it's lame editing. *** Edited 3/26/2006 8:27:10 AM UTC by MrX***

You do if they're comparing the two cities. Or did you mean Louisiana? Hard to tell.

Go Loch Ness Monster!

-Congo Falls - 90 rides (one day) -Murder of the Orient Express (1980-2003)

I realize they have to have them, but I wish they would just cut the interviews with "regular people." No one ever says anything interesting - it's always, "OMG IT WUZ TEH SCARY!!!111!!"

I was one of those regular people on Hades and never said omg one time.

5 minute interview for 5 seconds of air time. I'll take it!

I guess nobody watched as close as I did. There was tons of editing mistakes. (SNIP)

I had to laugh during the segment on Go-Karts at Mt. Olympus. The sound they had dubbed in is nothing like what the karts sound like there.

Someone else mentioned not liking the sound bites used from the general public concerning the rides. At least their reactions are a little more believable then what we've seen from the some of the "same old faces" (Paul Ruben for instance)that they used in the past, even if all they can think of is OMG. *** Edited 3/27/2006 3:31:52 AM UTC by Brad G***

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

The corkscrew on the way up AND the way down was interesting to me on Top Thrill Dragster (a random person made the comment).

Personally, the thing that annoyed me was the rewinding effect that got a little overused throughout the show, and when in the interest of time things were sped up. That damn MTV generation (oops, I-Fan checks his ID and realizes that he was at the start of the MTV generation).

I think it was a pretty good show except for the annoying regular people interviews, like Den said. Because all they said was "It was so scary and Oh my Gosh and AHHH!";)

The other thing I didn't like was like RGB said, I would also have liked to see some footage of the runners up. I mean, don't you find it kindof odd that Kingda Ka only had 3 seconds of footage, the entire show?

I agree, it was like "heres the winner!" THEN they did the count down lol, which there was no point to a countdown especially since they showed nothing about the runners up. I thought it was ok event though there were some small errors like that galaxy coaster in Mt Olympus lol. I also agree I've seen so much CP on TV and even alot of Holiday World which kind of made it repetative of the other dozen or so shows they set on repeat every year. It was also "best 06" and I was at least hoping for some mention of Voyage or even Flying Turns. Its a rare thing to see Knoebels mentioned on those shows and I think its time especially when they are doing something pretty interesting this year.

^ Yeah, no mention of "Best Food." :)

If they can show riders saying OMG and "that was so fast" over and over, they can certainly show them with powdered sugar from a funnel cake all over their faces (saying OMG!).

hahaha, yeah, they somehow avoid "best food" on the majority of these shows for some reason. Also I love how they make such a huge deal about hades being a "wooden coaster combined with the modern technology of a steek coaster"... its a wood coaster with steel supports, theres a bunch of them, we get it is it really that big of a deal? *** Edited 3/27/2006 5:05:00 PM UTC by P18***
My big grip - why so much time on the kiddy karts at Legoland?

Life is an amusment park -and I can't get off of the damn spinning teacups!
