It's the show about the Golden Ticket Awards.

"Dorney's Hercules makes it's triumphant return and wins a Golden Ti".....Oh wait;) Yeah, I think he was referring to Hades.

This show caught my attention too when Paula posted it on the Holiblog, as it also includes HW's awards.

Edit: And she just beat me to posting about it. *** Edited 3/24/2006 2:41:02 AM UTC by MrPKI*** *** Edited 3/24/2006 2:42:13 AM UTC by MrPKI***

I have it marked on my calendar. :-P
Anybody watch on Friday night, and what did you think? Personally, my reaction was mixed. Several times, they went off on tangents that had nothing to do with the category they were supposed to be discussing at the time.

I would have preferred they show at least some footage of the "runners-up" at least for individual coasters and water rides.

I had to laugh at Dolly Parton admitting she didn't ride the thrill rides in her own park because she was worried about her wig flying off, then the nails. At least she's upfront about it. OK, she's VERY upfront.

My problem was that they spent like 5 minutes showing us the history of Santa Clause,Indiana
and Flew through best amusement park and best waterpark in 5 minutes. They should have made the show 2 hours.
I realize they have to have them, but I wish they would just cut the interviews with "regular people." No one ever says anything interesting - it's always, "OMG IT WUZ TEH SCARY!!!111!!"

I'm also getting pretty tired of seeing Cedar Point dominate these shows. I love CP as much as anyone, but on top of having been there two dozen times, I've seen enough cable-TV footage of it to last a lifetime.

What I'd love to see is a show focused on obscure parks or foreign parks.

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
When they were calling out the number 1 winners of each gategory, what was with the ticket flickering? I mean, what was the point of that.

Also, I think it was alittle short lived. It seemed like it was missing something. Not alot of longer shots, alot of shorter shots, which didn't make it interesting.

It was okay though, I'm glad Six Flags Fiesta Texas got some attention.

Thank God I'm off tomorrow. I'll be watching it over sausage, eggs, waffles and home fries.

You won't see me coming...

Personally my favorite part was the footage of one of the award winning shows at Six Fiesta Texas. That sounds so wrong being a rides person, but when you see the footage of the combination bike/breakdancing/acrobatic etc. show you'll understand.
Odd show. Not much suspense when they spend 5 minutes talking about a park and THEN do the countdown which gives it the number 1 award.

Show spends a little time at Holiday World, Cedar Point, Dollywood, Wisconson Dells, Noah's Ark, Fiesta Texas, and Schlitterbahn. Only a glimpse of footage of parks elsewhere.

Lot of footage of Hades makes the show worthwhile if nothing else.

I guess nobody watched as close as I did. There was tons of editing mistakes.

During the segment on Hades they showed footage of Avalanche at Timber falls. And during the Mount Olympus footage they showed a Galxy coaster wich they dont have.

There was a few more but I dont have them fresh in my mind.

I dvr'ed it so I will watch it again and write down all that I catch.

I miss Drachen Fire

You work with http://www.amusementsafety.org or something? Did you catch anything wrong with food, too? ;)

LOL Gorman. He certainly spells like an ASOrg-er!
It was nice to see HW & Wisconsin Dells get some attention they usually don't get. They're making the right moves, and it's paying off for them. Though the usuals won for their normal awards, (CP & Schlitterbahn), HW & Mt.O snuck in and took some of the glory.

I know it was just the Golden Ticket Awards in a televised version, but it was nice to see it on tv.
