Amusement park rides are safe, despite high-profile accidents

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Time has posted a common sense article that puts the safety or amusement park rides into perspective. The article also points out that bigger and faster doesn't mean the ride is more dangerous.

Read it all from Time.

Facts 1, fear-mongering and ignornace 0 ! It may be true that the original Golden Age saw much more dangerous rides, but in today's hyper-litigious society, amusement park rides ARE safe. Of course, I wouldn't go on too many fair/carnival rides, they move from state-to-state to avoid inspections, etc. *** This post was edited by gatorwoodie on 7/9/2001. ***
Ah, nice to see some GOOD press widely distributed, rather than flamboyant nonsense. Good show!
