I always that was ironic. :)

Because that'd be the sweetest irony.
Sometimes coaster talk can be quite refreshing!
THANK YOU!
I would like to know why everyone is "always" talking about polotics
polotics are very important issue and represnt a very real problem and danger in the sport of Polo. Imagine, riding along at a high rate of speed and your polo pony suddenly develops a muscle tic, is thrown of balance, and you are thrown headfirst to the ground, perhaps having the poor beast falling on top of you.
I want to dive right in to conversations about people's roller coaster ridding ventures
You don't hear much about this because probably no one here has had a coaster ridding adventure. I for one know of no one personally who has had anything to do with any park removing or getting rid of a coaster. The brass who run Six Flags may have some experience at ridding parks of coasters (and in the case of Astroworld, ridding the city of an entire park), but most individuals do not have such experience.

WHAT ABOUT THE ACTUAL COASTER, THE ROLLER COASTER, WE ALWAYS CIRCLE AROUND EVERY SUBJECT AMAGINABLE TO MAN KIND EXCEPT TALKING ABOUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL. THE ROLLER COASTER ITSELF. I WANT TO READ ABOUT WHY PEOPLE LOVE THEM SO MUCH. WHAT TURNS THERE CRANK ABOUT THEM. WHY DO WE ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO RIDDING IN THE SPRING. CAN WE ALL JUST GET OFF ARE HIGH HORSES FOR ONCE AND TALK ABOUT THE LOVE FOR THE RIDES AND WHY WE LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
But, you know, over the years as I evolve as a member of the general enthusiast community, I've realized that I don't particularly enjoy talking about coasters.
I enjoy riding them. I enjoy amusement parks. I enjoy the travel. But for the most part, I could live without ever talking about another coaster. I get more than my fill here at CoasterBuzz.
I'm not enthusiastic about discussing them ad nauseum, nor about knowing all the little facts and stats, nor about much of their history. I don't feel the need to belong to any group and I don't feel the need to wear my enthusiasm on my sleeve so to speak.
It doesn't make me any less an enthusiast. I'm enthusiastic about riding coasters and visiting amusement parks. Very much so and I will continue to spend a ridiculous amount of time and money sampling the best the world has to offer. :)
I can think of a million ways to discribe my love for coasters and the precious desire for ridding them.
**i'm an enthusiast so i can't talk about why i love coasters so much. My brain is mell functioning.**
What you talkin bout louis
my bad fabio!
Jeff said have some fun in a comment not so long ago. Remember "fun"
What am i talking about!
Romeo is that you
Where is the love. FOR ROLLER COASTERS
get off the high horse :-^
I just had a brain fart
When talking with someone and they just constantly keep going back to any one subject and doesnt let the conversation evolve, I am often reminded of a great Just Shoot Me! quote "I just realized something: you're boring, and my legs work!"
Bottom line: sometimes the convo just gets stale.
As for stupid comments, not really stupid, more misguided. "I can handle this ride, it's just like Space Mountain". Spoken by a somewhat nervous man in line for PKD's Flight of Fear.

Actually, not really THAT different from RnRC....if you need to compare to a Disney coaster...and you do, since for most people Disney is the only place they'll visit other than their "Six Flags"...
"You mean there's ANOTHER Six Flags?" ;)
edit: bill, thinking how easy it is to integrate fart jokes into a political conversation... :)

Oh my cod it's a bird "shiekra"
I don't believe in cod. Just kidding.
The only time I pulled out my ACE card was when someone would ask me how to join so I could show them the address. I would never use it to show my SUPREME INTELLECT when it comes to coasters. That said, I see no problem in contradicting a "someone died on such and such coaster" story. I have a cousin in law that still believes the reason The Bat was removed from Kings Island was because someone got decapitated on it.
index finger, middle finger and pinkie
2 in the pink, one in the stink :-)
Coasters get enough bad press (see the little blurb in Time this week about heart rates), that we should try to counteract it if we can.
Frankly, the only reason I enjoy meeting other enthusiasts is because I know if I did want to just talk coasters for a short bit, they'd understand better than anybody.
Sirloindude, who would like to thank all the people that came out for the event at GL (back in June, I believe) for being fun people to show off our massive skills for, lol. *** Edited 12/3/2005 2:30:03 AM UTC by sirloindude***
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
Moosh-You're just still mad because I turned You down ;).
SFlake-You're a far nicer person than I. Had that happened to me, I would have rode with the guy one time, no more. Had he followed me around, he would have been well aware that I was not happy, and likely wouldn't have followed again. I've been in that position before.
Walt-I'm unclear as to what you're implying. Are you saying that it is Ironic that coaster enthusiasts complain because someone who is overly fanatical proceedes to tell them and everyone else that they are wrong? I hardly find that ironic. I like many things, and I like conversing about many things, but at the same time, I'm not fanatical about much of anything. And I especially do not enjoy a killjoy. I hate for people to tell me how I'm supposed to enjoy something, or why I shouldn't enjoy something, or for someone to ramble usless facts at me while I'm riding. There are 3 general times I don't tend to talk, Movies, Coasters, and sleeping. I want to enjoy what I'm doing, not talk about it.
I liked the comment about riding X-Flight with a bunch of enthusiastic kids who thought it was the best ride in the world. That is so true. It is like going to a movie, that, while funny, may not be the best evar, but if you're with an audience that keeps laughing and having fun, the movie seems more enjoyable.
I enjoy talking coasters. Heck, I like getting together with other enthusiasts and even talking coasters, but I can't sit and talk coasters for hours. That get boring quick
