Almost murder at SFGL 6/15

Associated parks:
None

Well I am sorry, Mr. Politicly Correct. Since I was actually present when this crap was going on, yes I do feel like a riot was going to break out. Three kids threw rocks at the ride. People started booing. People started cursing loud. People got out of line. Someone fainted. It was not a good place to be. I don't know what your idea of a riot is. I mean it wasn't Rodney King or anything but still.

Let's grow up. You guys are complaining about 5 and 10 minute dispatch times? What are you, nuts? There is rarely a time at Six Flags Great America, during the week or otherwise, that we are able to get on and off a ride in under 30 minutes. If you don't like it, don't go. And quit bit&hin!

I am thinking about renouncing the title enthusiast, because the more I hang with them (here, the parks, etc), the more I realize that many are overempowered crybabies who have the patience of 3 year olds.

While I'm not *yet* going to go as far as to say "crybabies" I've noticed that there are only a select few that I can hang with without wishing I were somewhere else. I also do not refer to myself as an 'enthusiast'. I just like riding rollercoasters and stuff. Sometimes I think that the actuall "riding" gets lost sometimes...

Yes the place is special to me. My first roller coaster was the Big Dipper.
I don't defend it to the death, but I get sick of people trashing it. Yes there are peoblems there. But these people make it sound like a trip to the dentist without novacaine. The last few days have been open season on SFWoA and this overblown account of a "riot" just set me off.

[Sure they have 3 trains running on Corkscrew but that's because the lines were ridicously long at CP when I was there, and some of the long lines were for mediocre coasters at best."

I was just there Sunday and Monday and they were running three trains on corkscrew and there was no line whatsoever. We walked on every time. The only ride that didn't run three trains was Mantis and I think they did better dispatching with only two.

I also witnessed a fight at PKI this year. A girl punched a guy in the face after getting off The Beast. That's right, a girl. And they weren't teenagers either.

So it's not just SFWOA. They need to put more energy towards maintaining the park and customer satisfaction, instead of trying to catch up with other parks. The park has a lot of potential, but I agree with Jeff, it needs better management.

Christ how do you kids do it

While everyone made a mad dash for X-Flight, Chris and I knew they would tell everyone lies and it would not be open

We then went to check out X-Flight. Chris whispered to me, "Watch this". I said OK. We went over to the white fence where an employee came over to us. Right when he was about to open his mouth Chris interupted:

"What's the lie today huh? Wait let me guess; mechanics cleaning up? broke down? technical difficulties?"
************************************************
Your behaviour give us a bad reputation

Do you HONESTLY think they've got a completely operational coaster in X-FLIGHT? I doubt it!

Do you think they PURPOSELY keep it closed just so they can LIE to people? I doubt it!

Do you think that a person placed at the entrance of the ride REALLY knows whats going on with the ride? I doubt it!

SO WHY ABUSE A PERSON WHO IS SIMPLY THERE TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM QUEUING UP FOR A CLOSED RIDE?

For what its worth, Vekoma has agreed to work early morning to early afternoon on the flying dutchman coasters (If you haven't noticed they aren't totally up and running) Some times it's hard to get everything back together in time for an earlier opening and they are delayed till later in the day.

********************************************
When we finally got to the stairs, the ride broke down. This is when a riot almost broke out. A person fainting didn't help either. People began throwing rocks at the ride.
*********************************************
I'd be willing to bet you threw rocks too!
*********************************************
My parent didn't enjoy the employees there. They said they were all snotty except for over at Swampwater Jack's.
*********************************************
The employee's were probably snotty because of the ABUSIVE GUESTS like yourself that were at the park that day

While I do think that the initial post was a bit "over the top" and exagerated, I will agree with Loriu's comments that fighting is not an icident isolated to one single park. Just yesterday the news here in PA was that in Langhorne PA (north of Philly) a guy beat up on the Cookie Monster costumed character at Sesamee Place. The person in the costume recieved bruised ribs and a neck injury. (Geeze... good thing it was Cookie and not Oscar the Grouch... the guy would have probably killed him.)

"You would never see people like that at PKI or the Point. I've never seen a fight break out or even angry people at either park. Big smiles on everyone's faces.

What a bunch of crap. You're telling me that people NEVER get mad at PKI or CP and are always just perfectly happy? Yes, I bet everyone was thrilled when SoB was closed so much. Everyone gets mad at theme parks occasionally, it just so happens that SFWoA more often... :)

I hate people who assume something because a town has a meeting. It pisses me off.
I would think the original poster already has a dislike for SFWoA just by what he call's it SFGL his own name for it not what its called. It just looks like someone with a bad attitude towards SFWoA. I would have believed him more if he had used the proper name for the park and not his name for the park, it just looks like he started out not likeing the place because they did not name it what he whats it to be called.

Grow up people. You are seriously being annoying!! First of all, it's SFWOA, not SFGL. Where have you been CHRISTOPHERPEEPER in the last 2-3 years?????

Honestly. I love coasters like mad, but after reading this thread..

Some of you(You know who yo uare..) have issues...

This constant CP/SFWOA bashing is just an example that some of you take this enthusiasm TOO FAR....
I have been around this park since I was brought into this world around 15 years ago. I have visited this park atleast one time each summer, and I visited 10 times last summer. I don't care what you people think of me, because I probably won't see you in my life. I call my park SFGL because I will never call it something as lame as "Worlds of Adventure". I do not have a hatred of this park. I have just seen it gone WAY down hill ever since it turned into SFO. One more thing, I would never make stories up to begin w/ in real life, let alone a roller coaster message board. I have PLENTY of better things to do. What I said in my original post was valid to the bone.

Hate is a strong word my friend. If you get pissed off over something as dumb as that on A FORUM WHICH IS ONLINE ABOUT FREAKIN ROLLER COASTERS, I feel the deepest pity for you. I am sure you can find something else to get mad about, such as vandals, ganster rap, or politics. If you have hate against people who just assume something, I have sympathy for you.
