If you are talking about me, yes, I will be there with hubby and possibly my son in tow. My son turns 17 on May 30th.

What, your son isn't allowed in the car with you...;)

Maybe he's practicing to take over Moosh's position behind the MOJ.

Moosh - totally bummed he won't be there....

We'll all think of you when we're jumping the rail for late night re-rides. ;)

Oooh, now THAT was cold, Chris! LOL!

I'm also bummed I won't be there this year. If my wife let me out of the house twice a year instead of once, there's no question I'd be back in Indiana again for the third year in a row. I will be back in 2004, no ifs, ands, or buttocks.

Oh, and Rob? Cornball, Raven and Legend will make you forget all about Coaster... ;-)

I'll be thinking of you when you're stranded at LAX next Friday ;)

Okay, so now that you've all convinced me I need to be there, I have to figure out how to do it on the cheap.
I noticed Lake Rudolph allows 2 (small) tents & up to 8 people per site... anyone interested in splitting a tent site with me, or letting me set up shop on theirs?

ThemeDesigner - IIRC there was a "group camp" at SRM last year. I'd suggest posting to the newsgroup rec.roller-coaster and ask if anyone else is camping or if there will be a "Camp RRC" at SRM this year.

Moosh - about to release the goons on chris if he doesn't behave.

My son is allowed in the car :) Actually, I asked him if he wanted to go, expecting him to say no considering I haven't been successful getting him to go to MiA which is much closer. But he surprised me and said yes. Not that he won't change his mind come May. Only problem is we got a King, which means we may have to bring a cot along for him. And no "alone" time with the hubby.

How can you think about alone time when there's coasters to ride? ;)

LOL Greg. I had got Baymont Inn booked. But it is ten miles from the park. So I thought it would be a good idea to go to Lake Rudolph. There price for renting an RV to stay in is 85$.(5 $ more than Baymont). But it is right near Holiday World. Could someone tell me how far Holiday World is from Lake Rudolph is from Holiday World. From what I have heard it is right across the street and they have shuttles. Is it within walking distance? Also do you think that is a good idea? Thanks.

SFgadv,
there's a map on their
site

The big white thing on the bottom is HW's parking lot... so they're pretty close. Raven goes out over the lake in the picture (which is, of course, Lake Rudolph)

Sean, Lake Rudolph is the lake that Raven's helix runs *into*...there are shuttles from the campground to the park and back QUITE frequently. It's a great idea, 'cause SOMETIME during the day, between Zinga ERT and nighttime rides on the dynamic duo, you WILL need a break...;)
It's definitely walkable. And the campground is one of the nicest I've ever stayed at. Very clean.

If anything the trickier walk is from Santa's Lodge. The first year I stayed there I made the mistake of thinking I could access the park entrance by walking down the main highway, but the park entrance and parking lot are fenced off. I had to walk back around to the entrance to the parking lot.

D'oh!

Sure wish I could go but it was either SRM which would have cost me a fortune because I live quite a ways from holdiay world or ozzfest to see korn again and ozzfest was much cheaper. Sounds like its gonna be another killer event.

Moosh... that comment scared me.. I'm afraid in my terribly hungover Saturday morning condition I might make the same mistake you did.. "obviously for different reasons"
