All alone at SRM?

I hear America screaming...

Based on the way everyone talks about this, im guessing it is a stupid question, but is it worth a 13 hr drive??

Im strongly considering going with my girlfriend, been dying to go there for a while now. Can anyone suggest some good places to stay???

YES it's worth it! :)

Hey I got some questions about going. I have been been to a coster event and would really like to attend SRM.

1. Does the $31.95 pay for both Friday and Saturday during the day or just for the ERT at night

2. What are some cheap hotels near Holiday World

Thanks for any info, and I cant wait to May 30!!!

Speaking of which, is CedarPoint lady comin' this year?

Yes the 31.95 pays for both Friday and Saturday. Sorry can't help with hotels as we camp at Lake Rudolph, which is very nice and has RV's to rent.

SRM is the one "must-do" event of the year. Raven and Legend are great coasters and even better at night if possible. Yes it's worth a 13 hour drive. We drive 8 and would drive another 8 if we had to.

The one "side benefit" is that I can hit IB which I have never had the priviledge, so that is another reason to attend: the possibility to hit new parks? It is for me. That, and I have never ridden either CCI after dark.

Rob, if you haven't ridden Raven and Legend after dark and *slick* as could be, you haven't REALLY ridden them. They are certainly "great" coasters by day, but their personality changes at night into something a little more *sinister*....buwahahaha...:)

P.S. Cornball is also an insane ride, you might want to have Peter's *silly rabbi* bless your trip before you go...;)

Bill, so I hear..... :) I am thrilled that all things seem to be lining up for my trip. I am saddened, however, by my apparent inability to go to Japan this summer. So things go, but man, I really wanted BOTH trips.. Still, I will be more than happy to hang with my crazy CB buddies, and night rides on those nasty CCIs. Can't wait for Cornball either. Moosh still swears by it. :)After Coaster, I don't know what to think. My brains were premanently rattled, if you know what I mean. Looking forward to finding out, though ;)

I would love to come to this event,but I can't afford the airfare right now.maybe next year unless someone out there is willing help out this coaster starved Oregonian enthusiast.

Actually $31.95 only pays for one FULL day in the park and the ERT on both days. The nice thing is one can use the FULL day ticket any day that they want to....Friday or Sunday is an option some may choose.

I too would drive long distances to go to SRM. I got a 7 hour drive going into it....but it will be worth it.

Hey everyone, only 99 more days to go. I wish I lived closer. I am in Jersey so I am 14 hours away! But I will be flying:)

Edit: Anyone know how far HW is from the Indianapolis airport? Or should I fly into somewhere else?

I would recommend flying into Louisville. It is less than 2 hours from Louisville. I think it is about 2-3 hours from Indianapolis if I remember correctly.

Answers to your SRM questions and comments:

1. I don't drink, but have been told I'm pretty fun sober; :)
2. The SRM registration cost includes everything listed on the flyer...from 6 pm Friday until midnight (or whenever we kick you out) Saturday night;
3. Moosh, I was finally going to ride with you *this* year, but...well...you decided to put your job first; :(
4. SRM includes three ERTs, three meals, a photo walkback, and all-day admission on Saturday;
5. If you prefer, you can use your Saturday admission ticket on Friday;
6. If you have a HW season pass, email me for your special pre-reg rate;
7. The closest hotels are Santa's Lodge, the Baymont Inn and Motel 6 ...and it's not too early to make your room reservations--check our website for contact info.

Rob,

I'm stoked you're coming. I was wondering if I was ever gonna meet ya, and now after all these years, it's gonna happen *wipes tear*. :oD And just in case you don't know exactly what that rascal Bill looks like, look for the guy trying to put the charms on my girlfriend.

Bill, quit clicking my info page!! LOL I'm gonna tell Jill you've been surfing at work again! J/k. Can't wait to see you two at PCar!

Paula, really, there is NOTHING we could say that would repay HW and its *extraordinary* staff for the way we are treated...all the nice things we say are, at the very least, true....

bill, who hopes to get 'Moosh's ride with Paula...was there a coupon to redeem or something...;). If so, I'll make sure he mails it to me, since HE'S got *work* to do....LOL. We'll get you yet, 'Mooshie!

We're about a three-hour drive from Indianapolis. Louisville is about 90 minutes away. Evansville is about an hour away and has a small airport, too.

Thanks, Paula
