Aggressive peacock named in Busch Gardens suit

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

A South Florida woman is claiming that a peacock attack at Busch Gardens 3-1/2 years ago has left her with "permanent bodily injuries and neurological damage," according to documents filed Wednesday in Hillsborough County Circuit Court. The suit said that the park is responsible for not training employees to deal with the birds, and adds that the bird was horny at the time of the attack.

Once I got crapped on by a sick bird at a zoo. Should I sue for psychological damage? I was pretty rattled. And smelly.
Hi all,

I note that her name is 'Thacker' Maybe the peacock (in it's hyper-horny state) just misheard it ;-)

Honestly, I think it would be less ridiculous if she sued the bird for sexual harassment. :-)

Also I think her claims regarding the injuries she suffered are even more serious than people have suggested. If she is claiming "neurological damage" then she is not merely saying that the incident has precipitated a phobia or other anxiety disorder, she is saying that she has sustained physical damage to the brain as a result of the attack. Hmmmm.

More likely that the lawsuit is the result of pre-existing neurological damage. ;-)*** This post was edited by BeyondOblivion 1/26/2004 7:27:15 AM ***

Very interesting... I should check the site more often. My grandmother raised peacocks, and yes, I was attacked by one!! However, the attack was provoked by me pulling his tail feathers. Peacocks don't like that none too much. But I was eight, so wattaya gonna do. However, even being a small child, that peacock still didn't have the stuff to knock me down. A couple of good pecks, and kicks, and a few scratches, and it was over. I suppose if you're a drama queen, and like to get attention from any little thing, a peacock attack could be made out to be more than what it really is.

I'm not saying this woman didn't have a very violent attack, I dunno, wasn't there. But *if* she did, she really had to have ticked off that bird. They'd rather run than fight....unless you're particularly quick and can yank out a tail feather, or two. I only know this from being around them daily for seven years, even the horny ones.
