Web advertising is making some minor steps toward a comeback as some advertisers are starting to see the effectiveness of the medium. Still waiting though for big players to get in there and see the branding opportunities through frequency... people like McDonalds, Ford, Coke, etc. Those are the big scores I'd like to see.
The Sheraton ads are doing well, and it was sold by Burst Media, just like most of the stuff you've seen the past three years. It's a good campaign, pays well and is relevant to our traveling audience, so it's good to see them spending money. You can see Cheap Tickets has also gone out of their way to spend the bucks in travel areas.
Here's hoping the trend continues...

You get enough grief from pop-up ads etc... Can't say that I like them either, but at least it's something that catches my eye, name brand items are more eye catching than a monkey sliding in from the left side of my screen telling me I have won a trip to hear the latest sales pitch for some vacation club (or whatever it was I won). I'm sure you get your share of complaints but I'm one that likes to point out the positive and not just the negative.
Where are the ads from SF, CP etc...? I would think a board like this would be a great advertising oppurtunity. Not all of my friends have season passes ya know?

Hey, while I'm plugging my web site with my username, would you mind stopping some other paying site from plugging their products during my visit? Man, it's just sooooo very annoying!

I noticed the Schwan's ads. Try the spicy breaded chicken... puts the Wendy's version to shame.

Think about it--their ice cream poisoned 200,000 people with salmonella in '94 and nobody sued 'em. Think about it. Half of the complainers shut right up with a payoff no bigger than more ice cream. Do you really want to start an addiction that freakish? Run while you can! Save yourselves!

BTW, Schwans notified us BEFORE it even hit the news, and not only took back the "offending" cartons of ice cream, but ALL of our ice cream, and replaced them all for free.
Jeff, if you haven't tried the pizza stuffed pretzels yet, they are excellent (don't do much good for my diet, though).

The only ice cream I've had from them consistantly are the crunch bars.
Stuff we regularly get from them includes the spicy chicken, burgers, seasoned potato curls, the new yummy potato wedges, pierogies, Italian-style meatballs, hashbrowns, breakfast sausage and bacon once in awhile, cheese sticks for parties, and I grew up on the juices, back when they were called "Vit-a-sun."

I've been known to run Schwan trucks down on the street for a carton of that Peanut Butter Chocolate stuff. Curse that Playette and her friends!
