Acrophobia

The new ride at Six Flag's Over Georgia looks sweet. It is a 200 ft. free fall ride where the riders stand up. It brings you to the top and then tilts you 15 degrees so that you are facing the ground, and then...sends you plummeting towards the ground.

Daniel.
Thanks...

Hopefully you don't stand up on drop zone...that's umm....dangerous? As long as we're adding yet another acrophobia string, does anyone have any pix?
Hey, let's can the sarcasim.

Acrophobia looks like a sweet ride, I'll give you that. But you don't have to have a post about it. You should wait till you ride it and give us a report. Just my opinion.

June 20th, "I'm sprinting for Talon. Oh, wait! I won't have to."
Oh! And there is this new ride PKI called The Beast. I heard it was the longest woodie in the world. Did it just open? Oh! So was it really there for about 20 years?
Damn you people are cruel. If someone isn't following the developments at a park that isn't near them, they may not know about every single new attraction at every park. Give the guy a break! Stop your elitist attitude, and just say "yeah, I know...it looks really cool." Or something to that effect. Or give him more information. There's no need to slam him because you've known about it longer. It's just like the stupid "I'm better because I knew about band X BEFORE they were popular." mentality. Give it up people...GROW up.

Unfortunetly, this is becoming the prevailing attitude at this site. It is slowly becoming one of the rudest, nastiest places to talk about coasters. Everyone has something "smart" to say. *** This post was edited by OutKast on 5/21/2001. ***
That ride looks fun, but how are you secured? Do you actually stand on something because it sounds kind of painful of you don't?

I was just at 6 flags great america on saturday and Acrophobia scared the crud out of me... One you aren't standing up... your feet dangle at the ground you are strapped in with a over the shoulder harness... It takes you up and starts speeding up, just as it starts slowing down it tips the seat forward you are basicly lookin at the ground and you cant feel the back of your seat or anything but the harness... Then after what seems like eternity the thing drops and its over!
So the seats are like a normal Giant Drop, but they tilt? That makes sense.

Too much is simply NOT ENOUGH...
A picture is worth a thousand words! Thanks, OutKast...NOW I can see how this thing works.

Mother, did it need to be so high?
My bad...so you don't stand up. But that's what is says on the site.

Daniel
You are all Wrong. You do stand up. Did any of you bother to look at the pics of the people riding it. They are standing up just dangling. I mean It has a like a 2 inch seat for the rear buttocks. Then just a bicycle seat thing. And from what I heard your crotch will not hurt. It was not designed poorly. You Can ride safely without you Sl@nG getting hurt guys. This is gonna be a cool ride.
Limwarrior is exactly right except there is about an 8inch seat for your rear end. There is no pain at all during the ride. I was on the first ride on March 12. I waited 8hrs while they tested it all day. Since I already wrote all about it in the news section I'm not going into detail about it, but I will say that it is the best drop ride on earth. It may not have the height, but it has the tilt that gives you the fun. So while it isn't as terrifying it is the most fun as there is practically nothing keeping you in the seat and you are floating the whole way down. Plus it sure is interesting watching the ground come up at you instead of looking straight out. Also it doesn't tilt on the way down as jennersmalpert stated, you tilt at the very top.
