Arrow's dream turned into nightmare with words Six Flags all over it
CoasterBob has hit the nail on the head.
B&M is considered the gold standard because they have been very inovative for the last decade. When the Batman rides, and Raptor first came out they were the most imaginative coasters anyone had ever seen.(finally doing, what everyone always dreamed that the arrow suspended coasters would do). Kumba was breathtaking. They also allow for a great deal more capacity. This makes them even more valuable. When and If B&M stops being the most innovative, and the most satisfying, then guess what -demand by parks will fall and they wont be as expensive.
