Those "yes things" tell you which posts are new. I personally find that a better arrangement than having to guess.
Furthermore, the whole point of CoasterBuzz is to not have people endlessly plugging their sites. If a site has good content, we'll add it to our sites section and allow them to post news items if it's worthy. If we just let anyone post a link to their site, you'd have to wade through mountains of worthless GeoCities pages to get to the good stuff.

Jeff - I have a comment about the "yes!" things. When I view the forums, either at home or work, I always see a "yes!," regardless of whether or not I have viewed the thread since the last post was made.
It doesn't really bother me, I just thought you may want to know that it may not be working properly.

I have the same problem with the "yes" thing. It always says "yes", no matter which computer I am on. But it doesn't bother me either, just though I would bring it up.
I think that the website advertising would be a good thing. If people go into the forum looking for small geocities or other "crappy" sites, than they are asking for it. It is up to them to judge wheater or not the site it good. Plus, I know you manage a few sites plus your normal life and all that, so you are pretty busy, but some people have spare time to roam through these smaller sites.
I disagree... my focus has always been to sort through the crap, and it's a formila that has worked well over the years.
If you're seeing nothing but "yes" then I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess you're not clicking the "mark all messages old" link after you're done reading.

Thanks for pointing that out, I never noticed it before.

Just to clarify, the reason for that function is that most people view the forums from more than one place. There's nothing more irritating than coming home and not knowing where you left off from work.
Not that anyone ever reads the forums at work...
