A DIFFERENT perspective on " X"

If anyone hasn't seen this, this is someone's view of what "X" will look like at SMMM.

Kinda funny I think.

Why are they naming it X anyway. Why can't they think of some elamorite themed name, like most Six Flags coasters are.

It's going to be THAT SHORT!?!?!!? OMG.....thats not a big deal at all. I expected much more than that.
X sounds like a great name for this coaster. It has never been used before (as far as naming coasters is concerned) and it usually refers to as extreme. By the video that is shown on the SF website for this ride, it definitely fits the mold for extreme.

X is not short at all, 3610 feet. (SFMM's Viper is 3830 to compare) This is just one person's guess at the actual placement of the ride and how it will look.

OH ok....well then my hopes are back up...
LOL, it's the only 200' coaster I can think of that has less than 4,000ft of track. It will be pretty darn short, no if's and's or but's about it! That doesn't mean I won't be waiting in line over and over for it though. :)

Too bad it won't be open when I go out there this year though.

The Name X is so 1990s. and so is calling the park an Extreme Park. They need to come up with something new. Parks are always so far behind the times when it comes to design and style.

Phantom's Revenge? 230' drop, 3500' total length.

Congratulations! That's the first time I've heard that since we actually left the '90's.

Will X be a short ride? Well yes....and no. It depends on how you look at it, and what you compare it to. In terms of it's massive drop, yes, it's on par with Phantom's Revenge. But keep in mind that all vertical dropping coasters up to now do nothing more than return to the station after the drop. B&M dive coasters and Hypersonic come to mind. X's length is short for a hypercoaster, yet no shorter than most B&M inverts. For a prototype, it's length is astonishing. And the best news of all? No midcourse breaks!!!

Let me get this straight, those idiot arrow 4th running rails will actually control the pitch of your seat... could they count a seat flip as an inversion?

I'm 2 for 2 so far!!!
<sigh>
It had better not have any mid-course breaks in it or they will never get the trains to make a complete circuit...

(It's just one of my pet peeves...)

Its nice to know that everyone is with holding any judgement on how cool this coaster will be to ride until its actually running.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
I think SOB is still fresh in everyone's mind and, at least I feel like NOTHING is a sure thing anymore.

I think this topic was discussed a while ago about naming coasters.
they should be more creative in their naming and not chosse identical names for coasters..ie VIPER, DIPPER,PHOENIX, etc etc.
When you have a coaster discussion and mention,"I rode Viper.." people then get confused and say "Oh which one?" and if your not up on coasters you look dumb..uh I didnt know there was more than one..:)

It's an internet thing. Out in the real world, people could care less and probably will only ride one "Viper" in their lifetime. They could be more creative sure, but they're not, and that just isn't a big deal to me.

Yes, Soggy, Phantom's Revenge is definitely short, but it also has a 160' lift, not a 200' one. I was thinking too, in X's defense, it does have a near vertical drop, so that does take away from the track length.

I still maintain it's a short ride though! :)

And someone said there is no mid course brakes...I'm assuming there will be a load and unload station then, like X-Flight?
