I can't imagine that too many people are going to come out for a repainted, special effects'ed up version of Medusa.

I disagree. I bet a lot of the general public will think it is an entirely new ride.

Over here in Los Angeles is the opposite problem: I've spoken to people who are convinced that Terminator is a rebuilt and/or rethemed Psyclone...after all, new coasters are made of steel not wood!

You are right. The park is even advertising it is a brand new coaster on the radio. The radio ad says "...and the all new Bizarro coaster"

The general public who doesn't follow coasters is going to hear that and think it is a new coaster, once they get to the park they might realize it is Medusa but beforehand they won't.

I have even heard people say in the park "They got rid of Medusa, that was my favorite ride" and that is walking a few hundred feet away from the ride.
