A couple of six flags questions.

crazy horse's avatar

We are going to be doing a trip that takes us to 5 differant six flags parks, and was wondering if we added parking onto our season pass would be good at all six flags parks?

Also, is the gold flash pass at great adventure worth the extra money? We are going to be there for one day, and we are worried that with the regular flash pass we would not make it to all the coasters.

One last question...

Does anyone know what the coupons are in the season pass booklet for six flags america this year?

Any help would be great.

Thank you.

Yes, your pass is good at all the parks but it is probably best to email the parks themselves or look at the back of your pass. Every time I have ever had a Six Flags season pass they always had what parks you could use it at printed on the back.

Your second question is a loaded one, see any of the Great Adventure or Flash pass threads for heated debates on the topic and make the decision yourself.

Have fun.

Thank's eightdotthree.

Actually, I am more concerned about the parking situation. If I add the parking onto my pass(where I buy it), does it cover parking at othere six flags parks?

I tried to call them to find out, but gave up after being on hold for 30 min and disconnected twice.

Misread the first question. I doubt your parking is good to be honest. I would just email each park you are going to and ask about the parking, that way you aren't wasting your time on the phone.

1. A parking pass is valid for regular parking at ALL Six Flags Theme Parks.

2. I went to Great Adventure on a Friday last August. My family got the regular Flash Pass. We were able to get on all of the major coasters once, and three rides on El Toro. The trick is to read the wait times on the Q-Bot. Identify two coasters near one another. Reseverve the ride with the longer wait, and actually queue for the coaster with the shorter wait.

Thank you wofguy.

That's great news as we are doing 5 six flags on this trip, and a few more throughout the summer. One of my biggest gripes about visiting parks, is having to pay for parking. Looks like I will be buying a parking pass as well.

Also, thanks for the flash pass info. Does the gold pass really save you a lot of time?

Once Shapiro got on board, he made it where a parking pass bought at one park is good at all of the parks.

That's great.

$15 to park a car is just crazy.

1. Usually at least 75% off the current stand-by wait time.

2. Not really.

I was blackmailed into renting a flashpass at Great Adventure my last visit in '01, and was able to ride everything in the park, some even twice, while other suckers stood in 2 hour long lines. I bet the answer to this question will depend on what day of the week you are going. You are pretty much guaranteed to ride everything in the park multiple times with a gold bot. I noticed that people who were using gold bot were getting on rides just a few minutes after they scanned, but it all may work different now.

It sucks that you would be forced to consider buying a bot in order to ride every coaster in the park, but that's a long forgotten topic...

Could you tell us which parks you plan on visiting?

I doubt the parking pass will hold up at SFKK, as the lot is not owned by them...parking is only $5, though.

It really depends on what day you are going to decide if a gold flashpass is needed. If you go during a summer weekday, regular should be good enough but a weekend will be jammed. Also August tends to be more crowded than July, and July is more crowded than June (with early June during the week not crowded at all).

If you get there at opening this won't work but you can see Superman's line from the lot and that can help let you know how crowded the park is before you enter. If the the line is just out of the station, the park is not crowded at all, if the line is in the first set of switchbacks, it is still lighter crowds, if the line is past the first set of switchbacks but not up to the 2nd set of switchbacks the park is moderate crowded, if the 2nd set of switchbacks has people the park is very crowded. That always isn't 100% accurate but I find it to work in determining crowd levels most of the time. Of course this all is figuring 2 trains are running.

It depends when your trip is to determine whether or not you'll need a gold flashpass at Great Adventure. If you're going in May or June, you likely won't need a flashpass at all. End of June to the rest of the season, you'll be very happy with a flashpass.

I asked the Six Flags people at SF America and was told the parking only covers the park you purchase it at.

Actualy, I finaly got ahold of sfa and they said that the parking pass is good at all six flags parks.

^^^ I can't speak for SFGAdv, but Memorial Day Monday typically isn't crowded for most parks; especially compared to the preceding Saturday and Sunday.

^^ & ^^^ - SFA is one park where I'd certainly expect to get two different answers from two different people on ANY yes/no type of question. My parking pass has always been accepted at all SF parks (and at SFKK from what I understand, at least as of '07, if you take your receipt and your parking pass to GR, they'd refund your parking fee)...

My SFoT parking has been good at all other parks. I can't imagine that the dude at the parking booth at SFxxx has been told "accept parking from all parks but SFA."
