5 Pop-Ups - CoasterBuzz

Hey Jeff, any idea when are you going to be able to get the premium site going? I can't wait! Right now I have 5 pop-up windows that opened when I came to CoasterBuzz. Four of them for Casino on the Web and one for a credit card. I mentioned in another thread that I would be more than willing to pay for a no-ad site. I enjoy CoasterBuzz more than any other coaster site on the 'net and I really want to help keep it going strong.

I've been shutting off the pop-ups, but DoubleClick keeps bringing them back as fast as I kill them.

Maybe that's why they're dropping sites like this... they need the money bad.

You might want to suggest to them that the site's click thru ratio (or what ever you call it) being bad is partially their fault as well. You have told them many times that you don't want pop ups and yet they still send them. I personally might be more inclined to click on one once in a while if I only saw them once in a while.

A couple of other suggestions that might induce me to click on some of the ads:

1. Don't show me the same ad 5 times in a row. (more variety)

2. Don't show me more than 1 popup on a click.

If I'm inclined to click on only 25% of the unique ads I see and they only show 5 different ads, then I'm only going to click on one of them.

If you annoy me too much with multiple popups, then I probably won't click any of them at all.

Another thing I've noticed is their popup ads are fairly slow to load.

Just a thought you might want to share with doubleclick.

FYI there is a wonderful program out there that blocks all pop-ups. It works great. If you want the site you have to contact me!

It'll be academic in a couple of weeks anyway, when I switch over to 100% Burst Media ads.

Jeff, I know everyone is saying this but its getting worse! I am gettng 3 pop ups everytime I click on anything... I cant even read the forums without the popups coming out every 2 seconds

I have the right to visit this or any site I want to for free, which I'll continue to. I just use my pop-up stopper, works fine for me.

Jeff, every page on the site opens a popup. Some pages open 2. Casino on Net and "getsmart visa" are the main ones. Stop... stop...

This is strange because i usualy get none. The "TOS" says someting about a company that keeps track of where you go on the web in order to use advertisements that resemble what you have been visiting. Try deleting your Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, and Clear History every once in a while

DoubleClick will be gone from this site entirely in 10 days. In the mean time, the pop-ups are supposed to be frequency capped. By the time you get to the third page, you shouldn't see them anymore.

I have 20 (really!) from only 5 or 6 pages. It's insane. I can't wait until doubleclick is gone.

Wrong. You can't have more than one pop-up generated by one page. There's only code to spawn one.

Well Jeff you may be wrong i get 2 or 3 at a time, when you close one another comes up.

Samething for me I just got 4 today some days its 6, everyime I click on the x to close it another one came up everytime I want to click on a topic they keep poping up this has been driving me crazy. What can I do to get ride of these?
