48 Hours in Ohio - PKI or GL?

If you do go to GL, make sure to ride the Big Dipper up front. At least that's how it was when I visited late May of '03. The back was just painful (way, way, way, more than, say, SOB), but the front was smooth as glass. Never have I ridden a coaster with that much variance in ride experience from the front row to the back row.

They re-tracked a section of Dipper over last winter, and it made a huge differance. No matter where you sit on Dipper, it's a smooth and enjoyable ride now. The back seat went from painfull last year to awesome airtime this year.

Viva La Voyage!
That would explain it! I just rode Big Dipper yesterday, front seat, and man, that was actually more fun then X-Flight! Great airtime, and no broken legs like on Magnum at CP. :)
Magnum (even Gemini) is much smoother in the very front or non-wheel (middle of car) seats just like The Beast, SOB, Big Dipper, and most woodies that have three rows per car.

Well, decision made, hotels booked, wife on board (the last one was tricky). It looks like we'll be going to CP on Saturday, and either CP or GL on Sunday. PKI will have to wait another year. Thanks for all the tips and watch for the TR on October 12!
