400 foot woodie?

That was a misprint. He MEANT to say its a 700 ft floorless flying standup inverted 200 mph launch fishhook woodie over 3 miles long.
And they will take out Goliath :)

Just remember someone at thrillride also said that GRP (Guiness record project) was the code for a Rye's Playland gigacoaster.

they could call it Whiplash the Ride.

Get wrapped in the coils of Viper at SFGAm.
I really doubt that a 400 foot woodie will be built at all, let alone in the next few years.
On the other hand, no one beleived Thrillride when they said a 400 foot shuttle coaster was going to the Mountain. Or a 300 foot coaster with an 80 degree drop going to Cedar Point. Hey, did they ever build that? :)

A 400 foot woodie would be ridiculous. Heck I think even a 200 foot woodie is ridiculous. Woodies were not made to be like that, take a look at some of the greatest woodies around: Villian, Roar, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Cyclone, Comet, Raven...they are amazing yet all are 120 feet high or less.

This thread reminds me of my very first rumor thread here. "Bionic Beast."

Ah, the good old days.
Forget it a 400 foot wooden coaster would crack on a test run. Wood is not designed for those heights, I think Son of Beast was crazy, but a 400 footer would just be impossible!

If they build a 400ft woodie..well there goes the Rain Forest, I think SOB is bad enough.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
Well, "woodie" doesn't necessarily mean wooden supports.

There you go, Greenpeace.

Lynch, I was thinking the exact same thing. They probably should have built SOB with a steel structure. That ride took alot of trees, and it didnt have to be that way. If wooden coasters that tall are built with steel supports then I could see it as a possibility but not without a steel coaster doing it first. Hey, who knows in the future, because I guarantee alot of us here even 5-10 years ago never thought in our wildest dreams that a 300ft coaster would be constructed.

400 feet of wood in California I really couldn't see that happenning. Like in the other post "There goes the rain forest " lol just picture the massive and I mean massive overbuild on something that size to support it for the earthquake standards. I probably would ride it as long as it's not by RCCA, now if CCI has been talked into building a coaster of those porportions then I think it could be the greatest wooden coaster even built. SFMM's next wooden coaster I think is not going to go over 225 feet, I do believe that it will be a hyperwoody but I just can't imagine a Giga woodencoaster anytime soon.
It's going to be a 400 ft 5d wooden coaster, with a Crystal Beach Cyclone layout.

And CP will break their record with the 1200 ft floorless-standup with an underwater inversion.
Not going to happen. First of all, a 60-70 million dollar price tag, especially in California is far too high. Secondly, how many people would die? ughh, don't want to even think about that.

-------------
Thank you Disney, thank you...
Why do you think anyone would die, for pete's sake!? ...or even be uncomfortable, necessarily? As long as the park makes the investment to do it right (again, I know thats a BIG "if"), it could be even safer than any of the other rides out there. Unlikely, I can accept, but impossible? Puh-lease!

I'm just going to ignore the tree hugger comments; nothing personal, guys, I just disagree!!

Live to RIDE!!!
What makes's me laugh is people who put rumor's up
and then defend them till the end. Its a RUMOR only. Get outside more often then you won't have to worry about your 400 foot coaster till it comes.

-------------
Army rangers lead the way
I know it's just a rumour; and a Thrillride rumour of all things!! I just can't believe people saying things like "imagine all the people who would DIE on it!!", or, better yet, "Imagine all the TREES that would have to die!! 'sniff, sniff'" I just thought it would make an interesting "what if" topic; I never really believed it to be definite, or even likely!!

Anyhow, no hard feelings, I hope. Hey, I just wanna talk coasters!

Ah, Roller Coasters.
An hour wait for a two minute ride.
I can see it now...warning signs for the ride:

"If your body contains a back, you may not be able to ride this coaster in complete comfort."

I cannot imagine what a 400 footer will do to anyone...

Son of Beast was NOT the smoothest ride..real rough in many spots so imagine one three times that?

NOPE!!! and I am crazy too but NOPE..I'd never ride it!
