4-7-04 New Storm Runner Pics including Trains!

Testing started on Wednesday, the 14th. Just little pushes
manually up into the tophat. No tests today, should do some
real ones tomorrow (Friday). Spent much of the day setting
up the mag brakes at the end of the ride. It's getting close!
I was there for 3 hours today waiting for it to test and no luck. They were busy prepping the trains, and working on the other things like Comet Rider had stated. I seen people walking the brake run and checking things out. There were ride mechanics walking the launch track for some reason. I can't wait until I see them make that first full throttle launch. It should be a site. I hope to be right there with my DV camera in hand.

The ride doesn't even look real, every transition looks weird... Reminds me of a coaster someone made in NoLimits.

Its because we are so used to the B&M lines and curves. I agree, every time Intamin puts out something truly new it looks weird as hell, but it always feels good.
So true.

One of the girls had a cute little kitten named kitty-kitty, the other girl had a cute little puppy named Chris, and the third girl was a republican.

Storm Runner is launching as of today (Saturday).
Water filled test dummies have been loaded on one of the
trains and testing and calibration is underway. It's smooth, quiet
and fast! Private parties in the park the next few
weekends, but you might be able to see it run from
outside the fence, especially in the Trailblazer area
along Park Avenue.
Wow... this looks like a new generation of coasters has arrived -
the coasters in which the restraints aren't there just for safety reasons, but are infact an integral part of the ride.
Many of these elements will totally feel like you're being ejected from your seat-
I especially like the way they designed the exit of that immelmann- it will feel very strange!
I guess I won't be a fan of these inline turns - but the snake dive looks really like something.
I wish I could go there some time this year :)
Today 4-19-04 I got some video with both my camcorder, and digital camera. As soon as I can get it up and running on a site I'll let you know. That coaster looks incredible. I drove by after work(I work night shift), and sure enough the train just flew by.

I had to rush home and get my cameras. I had planned just taking footage of a few laps, but I ended up staying there over an hour watching it run. The inline twist and half into the Snake dive is going to coolest inversion. I can't wait to experience that.

I tried all morning to get the video from camera uploaded, but I couldn't get it to work. It would just show it as a still picture. I could play it on my computer, but I couldn't save the file to send it. Any tips? Anyone? ;)

They were running one train, and just kept relaunching it. Back to back. If the way it was running today is any indicator this thing is going to be running reliable this season. I hope that is the case.

It also looked as though they were adjusting the speed of the launch. A few times it just creeped over the tophat. Then by the end it was just flying over. I could only imagine the airtime that would provide. I am hoping for the latter when I experience my first ride.

Another thing to note is just how quiet it is. The cars driving by on the road were more loud then the coaster itself.

I'll let everyone know when i got the video up. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how to help you with the video, but provide more details and chances are some people around here will figure it out.

(Details as in type of camera, type of upload program, what you're trying to save it as, etc, etc)

Pete, Try simply copying and pasting from the folder the videos are on in the camera to the folder you want on your PC. Thats what i usually do on my digi cam. I have a nikon coolpix 4300 though. The manual should have all the steps you need to take to get them on your pc.

Anyway, If you get back from work and you figure somthing out, Either send them to my email or i will keep my PC on all night and be on Aim, And i will upload them in the morning. :)
