2010 Holiwood Nights or CoasterMania

Moosh, from the sound of things on this board, you probably have a high credit count. You sound like a pretty experienced rider to me. ;)

I actually posed the same question over on r.r-c (USENET lives!!) but it was almost rhetorical as Cedar Point has not yet announced CoasterMania '10. It's obviously possible that it could move, as it did the year that Cedar Point hosted Coaster Con.

It's interesting, though...years ago I startede doing CoasterMania because it was my most economical way to get to Cedar Point: admission for less than the group rate, PLUS ERT and a keynote. Going to CoasterMania was a no-brainer! Now the dynamic has changed. I have a Cedar Fair pass and I go to Cedar Point on a regular basis, attending CoasterMania mostly for the keynote or Q&A. Holiwood Nights, on the other hand, is...

a) An excuse to go to Holiday World
b) An opportunity to ride Voyage at night
c) An opportunity to ride The Raven at night
d) An opportunity to ride the Legend at night

...all of which are opportunities that don't come around that often.

You can guess where I will be. :)

This has to be one of the funniest coasterbuzz threads I have seen in a long, long time.

And if my schedule allows...it will be HN. (sorry Moosh).

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

That's ok, Fever. Anyone wanting some good mooshing can find me on Voyage during ERT. I'm usually in the last three cars (but rarely wait for the very last row).

But why would anyone want to go to holiday world, when cedarpoint has the best coasters in the world?;) (according to some of the members on pointbuzz)

I throw my name into the holiday world hat as well. The voyage at night is just pure insane. And who can pass up the fudge, pizza, free sodas, free parking,Disney like employies, great guest service, one of the cleanest parks, free sunscreen, more than enough ert on some of the best woodies in the world.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Jeez, Ken...I was gonna wait to announce this but, oh well:

SAVE THE DATE:
Mooshiwood Nightsmania
June 10, 2010
(open to men only)

Will there be ERT, or does everybody have to go at once?

Hi

^ The only thing missing in the above is the caffeine in the Diet Pepsi (oh how I wish they would have regular Diet Pepsi!)

Actually, '06 was just a handful more than 1,000.

Thanks, Paula (a handful of enthusiasts? should I wear gloves?) ;)

I sit corrected. Would I be accurate in saying it dropped off a bit each year?

The PG-13 rating of this thread has just committed suicide.

If I actually decide to attend an event next year, it will definitely be Holiwood Nights...I wouldn't be up to the 7-hour drive to the Point by myself.

^If you're squeamish around gravy. :)

...yes, Jason, attendance at HWN has decreased some since 2006.

Hey Paula, got2 isn't alone in that....some of us are caffeine-addicted but need our diet beverages...

Honestly, I usually just go with the tea/lemonade (Arnold Palmer) and "eat" the calories since it's HWN... ;)

^IIRC They have Diet Dew and Diet Dr. Pepper. That's what I usually drink. I'm drinking Diet Dew right now. :)

Not Herbal Tea. Im highly sensitive to caffeine and cant have caffeine at all. So herbal tea is my savior on the days I crave some tea.

I get major migraines even in small doses. Stupid College Cram nights did that to me.

^^I know there's caffeine in tea (most tea, as Ken pointed out). I just prefer Diet Coke over anything else on Earth, and Diet Pepsi will do in a pinch. Sweet tea is the next-best-thing to Diet Coke, but has calories...LOTS of 'em.

"Dr. Pepper tastes like a monkey's butt, and Mountain Dew (diet or otherwise) tastes like a monkey's butt that's past its prime*"...

*Thanks to Chris Griffin for giving me the latter portion of this post....

Coaster Mania will not be on the same weekend, as CP will schedule it to coincide with coaster con which is at kennywood starting June 20th.

Actually, if the Con starts on the Sunday afternoon, CP would be smart to have Coastmania the Friday and Saturday. It'd be an easy late Sunday morning drive (4 hours) to Kennywood.

Do they still have gatoraid?

No caffeine in that.

Yes, the gatorade is there at least as of the Fall Affair. Still doesn't help the diet cola with caffeine! I can't believe that they don't have a normal diet cola option. I can't think of the last restaurant/theme park/movie theater/anything that does not even offer regular diet cola. I wanted to buy a bottle at one of their gift shops and it cannot be found.
