2009 Golden Tickets

It seems to me that the trick to advertising tiered pricing is not so much in doing it, but in naming it in such a way that you don't cannibalize your standard experience. It's no accident that Starbucks sizes are "Tall, Venti, and Grande." Even the small is Tall.

(And yes, I'm one of those annoying curmudgeons who insists on using the words "small, medium, and large" when I order coffee at Starbucks.)

I think I'm done posting on this website

If you're going to YAGE, you should probably at least stay away for more than eight hours and change.

I love that one person can show up as the new guy on the site and bring together all of the people who never agree on anything. That's cosmic awesomeness or something.

And how about those Golden Tickets. Gonch, I'm a let you finish, but Beyonce had the best coaster of all time!

Ok I am sick of you people bashing Six Flags and the Q-bot and Flashpass system.... Its a way for the park to make more money by taking it from impatient people who dont want to stand in line..... NOT THAT MANY PEOPLE EVEN USE THEM.... unless you're stupid and go on a busy day... The way Disney and such have it makes no sense because everyone just gets the stupid passes for anything that has a line.... the regular line doesnt move and the passes are essentailly stupid anyway... Also its not like the people using flashpasses go up and steal seats from the exit... they go up to the main entrance just like everybody else... The current system actually makes a lot of sense to me at the larger parks. And thank goodness magic mountain makes you pay extra for rides such as X2, deja vu, and terminator because these are rides with god aweful capacity... it makes sense people.... SF charges very cheap admission fees to their park plus their season passes work at all of the parks unlike cedar fair.... Id rather go in for free then spend 80 bucks at disney for a few rides (although the experience is fantastic)... Honestly just be quiet regarding the system... theres nothing really wrong with it... wait in line people... just do it

So anything a park could do to increase income is OK with you? How about if employees would take your wallet at gunpoint? Is that OK? After all, that would pay for a new coaster in no time.

For those of us who are stupid, would you let us know which days are going to be the busy ones next year? Please be sure to tell which days it's going to rain, so we know there won't be many people in the parks.

We know Six Flags charges cheap admission. Did you ever consider if they raised the cost of their admission and season passes, they could make more money, and still reduce their crowds enough that they wouldn't need Qbots?

If you go to a park on a season pass, you don't get in for free, unless you didn't pay for the season pass in the first place.

Other than that, good post except for one small thing. To give it a really big finish, you should have said "Honestly, just be QUITE regarding the system."

Let's fix this misconception about cheap admission at Six Flags parks that someone seems to have.*cough*JimmyBoy*cough* Single day admission is absolutely not cheap by comparison of Cedar Fair parks, or other parks for that matter. In fact, SFGAm has a gate price that is more expensive than Cedar Point. The St. Louis park is $4 less than WOF. Magic Mountain is a few bucks more than Knott's. Shall I continue?

Now, where Six Flags has extremely undervalued the gate is with their season passes. That topic has been discussed endlessly, although with the prices of their parking passes separate, they are approaching a better price point. Oh, speaking of season passes, you mention Cedar Fair Platinum Passes don't work at all Cedar Fair parks (if you're talking about being able to scan at the gate, then yes, but since you were talking about admission, I'm taking it as you meaning they don't get you into all CF parks). What is that, you claim you work for Cedar Fair? Really?

Anyway, back to the argument about Q-Bots...
