One more thing before I wrap up my message. Does SFKK plan to use any of the land behind Mile High Falls and Twisted Twins. Will they do anything with that parcel of land? Any info would be appreciated!
We do not own that land!
While we are complaining about rides, how about letting me say how crappy those Bumper Cars are and how poor the operations are on the Breakdance and how shakey that Rainbow is.
Im sorry, but SFKK has to be one of my least favorite parks.. and it too bad because I really like many of the rides there. :(
I think they could take their Pirate Ship, move that to near P.B.R., and then put an Impulse there (If they want to go that way)
But I would focus on expanding that waterpark where the Dragsters are, or heck, even putting it elsewhere.
But where?......

Maybe they'll follow the current trend of copying what HW has and put in a "Jungle Racer" where the Dragsters are?

All i have to say is SFKK is due for a big roller coaster. I say in the next 2 years.
People have been predicting that since 2000.

That would be a very awkward expansion because of the path design. They could build a path around it, but it would just make it even longer to get back to twisted twins and mile high falls from blizzard river. Rumor has it they plan on purchasing some flats from other parks and moving them into the place of the dragsters. They are currently in talks with Six Flags Over Georgia. However, expanding the waterpark would be a good idea. This will most like occur where Chaos currently resides.
There was hardly any place to get a drink other than vending machines over by T2. On a high 90 degree weather day this is not a good thing especially when guests may only have $20 bills in their pockets. Also Chang was down as was one side of Twisted Twins. I spent 2 hours there and left thinking to myself, "gee what a crappy park." We also was so pissed we gave the fast lane tickets we had to a couple we bumped back a ride before we left. We could have used them then left but it wasn't worth the time it would take to use them to reride the coasters we had ridden with them.
There is going to be a nice long letter to SFI going in the mail next Monday to explain my bad day at SFKK and I had to wait this long so as not to use words that came to mind after my day at that park.
I have been trying to think how to put it nicely and not write a letter that will end up in the trash. Rule number one in poison pen letters don't write it so they know up front they are about to get their backside chewed to shreds. Write a polite letter that explains you are not happy and will not be partaking in their product again for a while.
This park does not deserve a new coaster unless they make sure to add it along with doing a massive retraining of the employees and management.

It was especially shocking considering that I had just been to HW the day before. Talk about a contrast!
I don't see much happening at SFKK other than maybe a few minor attractions and a waterpark thats better than what they have.
Chuck, who thought the previous management under ROn Bernie was much better than SF anyday.
As for writing to corporate, as soon as they see which park you're writing about, the letter gets automatically forwarded there. That's why I suggested you shouldn't bother sending it to corporate. I don't think corporate actually reads anything.

Something I did notice was that the sign for Chaos where they list the warnings and rules was completely blank so I'd say the easy money is that it will never run again and its days are numbered.

Neither do I. Not even with Nate's money. You mean to tell me they were going to put in the largest floorless, a fairly large wooden coaster, and a nice sized flying coaster in 2000, but they opted for a small mouse instead just because of SFO? Sorry, SFKK actually does have a space problem.
This is the first time I've ever seen that anywhere.

Please do not get budgeting and maintanance issues confused with employee status. Its not the employees fault that Chang was down that whole day (one of maybe four days it was down the entire day this year), and that Twisted Twins only ran one side. This is beyond the control of most of the employees in the park, and I don't feel it is fair that they get trashed when they do the best they can to keep guests from hating this park and compensating for their problems. *** Edited 8/27/2005 5:47:22 AM UTC by Steel158***
As much potential as SFKK has (boy, I remember saying that a lot about most SF parks lately), they need better management AND a better employee training program. That goes for Maintainance employees as well. Were the rides being maintained properly by employes, then the rides have a better chance at being up. Just because you may be a ride op there doesn't mean he/she only means ride ops as employes.

I'm sorry, but even I will say that whilst I was there, all the employees but two that I came across were either indifferent, or needed to be trained better. And guess what? All rides at every park have maintanance problems, as well as other problems with rides being down for a day. And its not just six flags. I have a friend who went to Paramounts Kings Island this summer and guess what....there newest attraction (The Italian Stunt Job) was down for staffing! I pardoned that, because I know what its like to be an employee and to have to close rides due to staffing. Six Flags rides are inspected every day, but there's a thing called wear and tear, and sometimes parts just get worn down so much and they don't function correctly. Its just part of running and amusement park. Perhaps the management could be a little better, I won't argue with you about that. And perhaps with Six Flags being up for sale, its new owners will fix this problem. But its not only Six Flags that has management problems.
