Knott's isn't getting a mouse... A new coaster yes, but a mouse it is not.

Okay, you've piqued my interest. What makes you say that? (always interested to know what the latest Knott's rumor is... ;) ) Whachu hear?

Cedar Point could break another record easily if they really wanted to. All they have to do is find a type of coaster that is normally small like a flying or suspended looping coaster. A custom flying or custom suspended looping would easily break height and speed records but still be economically effective because they won't have to build it extremely tall.

Another mouse wouldn't generate much buzz from the general public because they already have one and because they are never very tall or fast.

Just because they can end their streak of record breakers now doesn't mean they should.

This is supposed to be the year of "the big one" at Knotts, isn't it? My guess would be something like MF, around 300' tall.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Swoosh, people are saying that because of CS's new coaster this might be "the year of the mouse" for CF, I'm saying that CS isin't even a CF park, so, how could that be a sign of things to come for other CF parks.....

Well Cameron, there is a fine line between it not being a CF:LP park and it being one. Unfortunately with KCS:MOA, the line is blurred. Yes CF:LP doesn't pay for any capital expenditures, but on the other hand it manages the park - thus case in point you have an arguement for both sides. But once, again I will remind you that no one said that CF:LP is paying for the mouse - and you really can not state that CF:LP didn't have some part in deciding that mouse would be good a KCS:MOA.

Now back to the topic!

If CF is managing the park, then I have a feeling that they had a LOT to do with the decision to add the mouse.

Knott's and WOF both have boomerangs thus making an impulse an unlikely choice.

Why is an Impulse unlikely at a CF property?? In 2002, CF added an impulse at CP. In 2003, they added an impulse at VF,now maybe in 2004 they will add one at Dorney or WOF or maybe a long awaited coaster at MiA?? who knows?

Not necessarily. SFWOA has both a boomerand (Mind Eraser) and an impulse (Superman: Ultimate Escape). They are two completely different experiences!!! With that being said, I'd prefer a full sized beemer inverted to an impulse any day.

While I can't confirm this my sources indicate the coaster planned for Knotts in Jan 2004 has been pushed back to much later in the year. My best guess: B&M Inverted, similar to Talon.

Similar to Talon?

I'm so friggin' sick of people who think the Crystal beach Cyclone would have been a great coaster. Woohoo ! I just rode this great ride , and Now My arm is broken and my tailbone is Bruised!

Six Flags Over Nebraska, I never specified what property though. To be completely honest I was hinting MiA

Swoosh, I know what we would prefer to see pop up in Missouri. When do you move to Columbia? I might be in the area for a game of importance on October 11....

DaNo, Yeah I just read where you mentioned all three of them together. I as well think an impulse or a boomerang is a likely coaster addition in the future for MiA.

Considering how CP and SFMM are tied for the most coasters in the world, I'm surprised that neither park has tried to top the other by adding one of these small and inexpensive steel coasters.

*cough* Goliath Jr. *cough* ;)

CBill: And what exactly is wrong with being a Husker football fan? (granted I will have to stop being one when I move to MU next summer).

For those saying Wildcat is a mouse... have you even RIDDEN a mouse? The 3 mice experiences I've had.. spinning, Mack, and Arrow offer slight differences from each other but ALL offer VAST differences from a Wildcat, Galaxi, et al..

MORE than 50% of people like me.

I think what they are talking about is the fact that Wildcats are like Mice because they are compact. Another thing, if THEY can't tell the difference, how can CP expect the GP to tell the difference?

Joey Isch: I believe that was the reason that Goliath Jr. was added back in 2001, but now that Cedar Point has "responded" with WT and TTD, it means that either park could pull another "Goliath Jr." and add a mouse.

Well, B:TR and B:KF are compact, as is Ga Scorcher....I don't see anyone calling those coasters Wild Mice.....gotta agree with Brian on this one, no matter how much it pains me to do so...;)

bill, loves the idea of a Talon clone for KBF, just isn't thrilled about the *timing* of said coaster...

P.S. Al Stewart had "Year of the Cat" and no one complained, why all the fuss about CF's "Year of the Mouse"...;)
