2004 Golden Tickets will the rankings stay the same.

The Amusement Today Golden Ticket awards are scheduled to be announced on August 27th. Will the top 10 steel and wood coaster rankings stay the same, or will we see TTD earn a spot in the top 10 and where will Storm Runner debut? What other changes do you see happening?

Here is a link to the 2003 Rankings:

One thing I'm 99% sure will happen is WWK will be kicked off of the list and Boomerang Bay at PKI will take at least number 3. From the looks of the concept art and pics, it looks amazing. I think TTD might also move up the rankings a tad if the uptime has been better this season (which from what I've heard it has).
I wouldn't count on BB making the top three.
I think that both #1 coasters will be dethroaned. Shivering Timbers will finnaly get what it so badly deserves cause it kicks Ravens but. And I think Millenium Force will take back its #1 ranking. Most likly Thunderhead will also make a really good showing. But I definatly Believe Timbers will get the #1 spot.
I'm wondering if Thunderhead will place somewhere on the top 10 wood list. Hope enough people visited Dollywood!

Avalanche opened pretty late, but I am interested to see how high Thunderhead lands its first year. TTD is also one to watch as more riders could help it and the novelty wearing off can hurt it.
Storm Runner definately needs a spot in the top 10. Perhaps Dragster will move up this year since it operated much more than last year.
August 27th is Superhero Celebration at SFNE. It'll be a pity if folks are enjoying the immense airtime on what is no longer the #1 coaster.

Thats right. SRoS will be hurt by what happened, but I wonder if MF will drop too if they rejected too many voters?
I forgot about Thunderhead. Good point Dukies#1. Will Storm Runner debut higher than TTD? Why would S:ROS drop because of what happened? If anything SFA's S:ROS is giving me a better ride than before the new restraints, perhaps it is the different riding position my legs are in.

I would like to see Nitro move up. I think Nitro is better than MF and I have never taken a lap on ROS at SFNE. I don't think TTD will move up too much, still way, way too much down time.

#1 Steel: Sky Rush
#1 Wood: Voyage
#1Park: Holiday World

Nitro is better than all other steel coasters. Right, Lord Gonchar? ;)
He knows that too! He is just way too deep in da Nile!
I'm not sure how the voting will go, but I know if I'd ridden Storm Runner before the ballot was due, it'd have been on my 10 Steel list somewhere. My 10 Wood list certainly got shaken up this year, with both Rampage and Shivering Timbers being new-to-me.

Well does Kings Island get the kids land Golden Ticket again?
I can't think of any other park that would except PKI.

I seriously doubt that Storm Runner or Thunderhead will make it. AT is very heavily weighted towards those rides that get visited a lot (though at least they only poll well traveled riders). Notice the heavy emphasis on Cedar Point steel, even when Mitch's poll shows the same rides way lower.

I don't put too much stock in AT's poll, but I can't wait to see how Mitch's comes out this year.

Shivering Timbers shook up my wood list, too. When it landed at the bottom ;)

-Josh (It just didn't do it for me.)

Thunderhead was one of the first ones I voted for.

:-D

The rest pretty much stayed the same as last year, with a few exceptions.

My money is on MF being the #1 Steel. As long as its not Superman in New England, Im happy. ;)
