2001 coaster season good or bad?

Cedar Point 3 times, and got done to Holiday World for the first time. Went to HalloWeekends for the first time. A good year, the same amount of times at a park as last year.

-------------
Mayday - Memorial Day Weekend - Nonpoint, Nickelback, Oleander, Staind
Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

For me personally it was a great year.  But for coasters in general, well i'll just say i've seen better years.

Raging Bull, Don't Fight It, Ride It

This season has been great.

I managed to have yet another great time at CP, including the best ride I've ever had on MF (front row, 3rd train of day).

I made many a trip to SFMW, and got the most of my season pass. My trips were, by some luck, nearly all without crowds. I experienced V2's soft opening on Jun. 8th. Roar gave more love to me than I deserved. I cracked 200 on Medusa.

I didn't get a chance to go to PGA, which has been the only downside to this season. I love that park almost as much as I love CP.

I got to do SFMM again. I gained new respect for both Colossus and Psyclone, both of which are gaining headroom on my Best Wooden list.

And I finally made my way to KBF. Worth the wait. Ghostrider, well... it wasn't everything I'd heard it to be. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved this ride, and wouldn't ever question riding it, I just got a bit too hyped about it. Perilous Plunge at 11:30pm, front row is one of the greatest theme-park experiences I've ever had.

And then, I managed to stay at Buffalo Bills in Primm, NV, where I was able to marathon on Desperado. I did 84 circuits before 6:00p, and an additional 35 after. I also did Turbo Drop at least 50 times. Great fun.

So, I've had success so far. I'm still going to SFMM again before the year's up, and I'm visiting both BGT and IOA at Thanksgiving. My season isn't over yet...

My first visits to SCBB, SFMM, DCA, Scandia, all of the Nevada coasters, HW, IB and SFWoA.  Also revisited SFStL and PKI.  Great year, can't wait until next season as I'm hoping to make it to some PA parks.
It was ok... I went to SFMM and Knotts. Since I'm from Europe this was the only time I was able to ride coasters :(

Goliath was even better than last year and Ghostrider is just incredible. Riddler was ok and Supreme Scream was also ok. Batman in front row is my #2 coaster after Ghostrider.

Unfortionatly Deja Vu and X weren't open at that time but I hope that I'll be able to ride them sometimes in near future.

Maybe I go to Alton Towers next year and ride AIR. Germany there they build a B&M hyper and to Spain to the new WB world.

That's all I can say!!!

I wish we had more coasters in Europe!!!!

Good season for me. SFGAm like 10 times, CP, SFWOA, USO, BGT, SWO, Little A-Merrick-a, and Big Chiefs.

Biggest Disappointment: Going to Universal Studios and not getting to go to IOA because my wife was sick of me going on coasters the day before at Busch. (I am hitting IOA in February though :) Yeah!)

Biggest Suprise: X-Flight. This coaster became an instant number one with me. Now I must ride the other Flying Dutchmen out there. Maybe make it out to California if X ever gets done.

Best Park This Year: Cedar Point. First trip to the point for me and I wasn't disappointed. Great commitment to their visitors and a great coaster collection. Gotta give two snaps up and a circle to M-Force!

Most Fun This Year: Getting to SFGAm early one morning when they opened the chains at 9:30 and getting like 12 rides on Raging Bull in a row before there was even a 10 minute wait. I just love that ride.

Cheers,

This was the best season I've had yet. I visited 11 parks including IOA, BGW, DP, SeaWorld Orlando and Hershey, along with my home park (SFGAdv) 9 tmes. As for coasters, I think it was an overall decent season.
-----------------
If they build it, I shall ride it.

SFMM (3times) KBF (2times) CP (4consecutive days) SFWoA (2 consecutive days) and Vegas (including Desperado). Though we initially wanted to go to Kennywood and PKI on our Ohio trip, all was good. We went in early May and everything was a walkon.

Biggest disappointment: X-flight was delayed an not open yet and till waiting on X (I will be going back if it opens). Magnum very overhyped and underwhelmed me.

Biggest surprises: MF(better than imagined), GhostRider(amazing!), Superman:UE and Deja Vu (surprisingly intense)

So far it's been a pretty good season for me.I have been able to ride the big  new attractions at both PKD and SFA.I really enjoyed FOF with the new lap bars this year(not to mention all the Rebel Yell re-rides I got when I was down there)I was also able to add SFA's skycoaster to the list of new rides ridden as well as Batwing.Saturday is my last run of the season to SFA.I can't wait to see what's in store for coaster season 2002.
It was a fairly good year for me...the usual trips to my home parks of HW and SFStL, including SRM 01 and the MACC Summer Send-Off, both at HW.  I also got around to hitting SFKK and PKI...to finish up the year, I'll be at PKI once again next weekend.

"Hold on tight, with all your might, and enjoy your flight on the Raven!"
Six Flags Magic Mountain - 7 times     (the only let down was of course not having X open yet. Last trip was on October 12th. it probably wont be open for quite a while)

Universal Studios Hollywood - 2 times (twice in less than 2 weeks. Jurassic Park the Ride marathon was fun! Thank god for the single riders line :) )

Las Vegas - 1 time (Speed, Desperado, Manhattan Express, Big Shot & High Roller. Speed is the best ride of that bunch by far! I still havent been on Canyon Blaster yet, but ive heard thats pretty good also)

SFMM is an excellent park whenever you go! Regardless of X yet to open, we still got Deja Vu and that isnt bad at all! Its an awesome addition to a great calibur of rides. There is never a bad day when you go to Magic Mountain..Lets just hope that next year we'll be getting something new besides the opening of X!!

-----------------

Having a two year old makes it hard to get away sometimes, but we managed a great year.
SFWOA - 6 times including commercial shoot and Media Day
Cedar Point - 4 times for 5 days including Coastermania, MM and Halloweekends.
Knoebel's for our first Phunfest.  Great park and can't wait to go back next year.  Phoenix rules
Kennywood - 3 times including 2 days for the Discovery Channel taping
Lakemont Park for our first Ridefest.  Nice park and Leap-the-Dips is incredible.
Kings Island for 2 days
Took our daughter to Idlewild, Conneaut, and Waldameer.
A lot better than last year which only included PGA, IOA and CP (3 times) and we already have at least 5 trips planned for next year.

I'd say it was a decent year for me.

In May, I had a great vacation to Las VEgas where I rode Speed: The Ride and Race For Atlantis.  Came home and went to SFWoA, then the following week I went to Cedar Point.  Pretty hectic month!

June brought visits to Conneaut Lake and Waldameer Park along with a few re-visits to SFWoA.

July brought a visit to Kennywood and a re-visit to Conneaut Lake.  I also visited Ohio's "lost park" Erieview Park in Geneva-On-The-Lake.  It may not be much, but hey- they have a dark ride AND a flying scooter.

In August, I made the pilgrimage to Elysburg, PA for a trip to Knoebel's.  What an absolutely amazing park that is.  Twister absolutely rocks and is my current #1 wood coaster.  Phoenix is a close runner-up.  And the Haunted House here is just phenomenal.

September and October were mainly SFWoA and CP visits.  So while it may not have been the most varied coaster year, I did get on 2 brand-new coasters and 4 new-to-me coasters.  I'd say it was a good year and I look forward to 2002 so I can increase Holiday World's attendance even more.
