2001 coaster season good or bad?

was the 2001 coaster season good? For me, yes. I went to Six Flags Great Adventure and rode Nitro. I am going again the 28th. How was your coaster season? Was it the best?

Any season where you can pack in CP, SFWOA, Kennywood, SFFT, SFOT, SFMM, KBF, DCA, PGA and SFMW all in one season, I'd say you have a winner. This was my year!

Biggest disappointment?  X not opening,  :(

This season was awesome for me. I finally got to get to the infamous Kennywood, and I loved it! I also was fortunate enough to get to WDW, SFWOA, CP, SFGAm(tomorrow!!), and, of course, MIA. I also met my goal of 400 laps total on Timbers. I can't wait for next season, even bigger and better!

So far I've only gone to PGA three times. It was cool I rode Stealth for the first time this year and I rode Psycho Mouse, it was awesome without the trims on! I am going to go to SFMW for Fright Fest soon. I will ride V2 for the first time and I'm really excited!

Best season ever for me!

SFoG three times, PKI, CP

I think I have a winner

Geeze, isn't 400 laps enough? ;) Maybe 500 next year.

ST Chick, I'm going tomorrow too, maybe we will see each other. My coaster season was great, the best one ever. I had my first trip to: IB, CP, PGA, SCBB, SFMW, Big Cheif's, and Kennywood. Return trips to SFWoA to ride X-Flight, and SFGAm, my homepark.

I have never been to any other Six Flags park besides SFDL...

...until this year, where I visited 4 different Six Flags parks. My 40$ pass was definitly a great value :). I visited SFDL, SFMM, SFWoA and SFNE.

despite having several coasters with delayed openings, yes it was a good coaster season.  a lot of new rides came out (or tried to) and there were other coasters that just raised the bar for that type of ride.

I agree, thats why I bought a season pass this year so I could ride Shivering Timbers more.
WOW, it was fantastic...5 trips outside FL for coastering in '01.  Started with our first SRM and SFKK for the first time (great place to pick up SF passes, BTW - cheap).  Late June to Ohio for first trip to SFWoA, a return to Nirvana, um, CP, then on to CoasterCamp I at PKI.  Back home for a month, then a business trip to DC got us a nice trip to SFA for Batwing, the final Vekoma flyer (and the best of the three), and more rides on my fav. steelie, S:RoS.  I though Viper's official farewell at SFoG was going to be our last '01 trip, then we were convinced to make one final trip up North before Winter set in...our first PPP.  Phoenix and Twister were unbelievable, and the event was my the perfect ending to the year.  Side days at Dorney (also our first trip there) and a return to SFGAdv for our first Nitro rides (AND it was my 150th coaster)...the year ROCKED!  It was GREAT meeting so many other enthusiasts at all those events.  Add in my frequent trips to IOA, BGT, and Wild Adventures, and I'd have to say it was my best coastering year yet!!!

Very nice. First time to CP and Dollywood, then I returned to BGW, BGT, SFGADV, IB, HW, MA, SFOG, Myrtle Beach Pavillion, and I've been to SFGAm 11x, with plans to go on the last day of the season.

ST chick, Timbers is one of "those" rides for me, we WILL get to it in '02 I hope...I don't think 400 would be enough for me, either...;~)...

Hey RagingBullGuy. How was Nitro?
-----------------
Chris
2001 was my first year as an "enthusiast."  I went to SFOG about 10x (including DejaVu's official opening and Viper's official closing), plus PCW and SFDL when I was up there.

Biggest Disappointment?  No CP for me yet.

For me, bad, unfortunately. I only got to SFoG, instead of SFoG, CP, SFWoA, SFEG, and VF as originally planned. (Leg injury). Not that SFoG wasn't good - it had great coasters. But I would've liked to ride Millennium Force... Next year looks better, though: CP, SFWoA, SFEG, PKI, VF, SFMW, and maybe BGW, PKD, and SFMM. Hopefully I won't have any leg injuries ;)

Tell us the day of the 500th and probably half of coasterbuzz will be there throwing confetti :)
Maybe they should put a plaque in the station to recognize you.

I personally can't wait for next season...although, if you think about it, the season really isn't over QUITE yet......

It was a great season,  SFGAm 14 times with my 15 time going there coming up next sunday.  A 2 day trip too Cedar Point, my first time there and I loved it! 2 trips to Indiana Beach, 1 to Michigans Adventure. All in all a great season and I can't wait til next year!
